Inspired by artist Garry Fabian Miller's work "The Sea Horizon", Across The Shoreline is a collection of 4 short pieces which depict different aspects of the works. The first piece "As the Sun Rises" depicts the sunrise which is present throughout some of the works. The second piece "Between Two Nations" depicts the distant view of Wales in the background of some of pictures as well as acting as a love letter between my home in the English Midlands and my current home in Cardiff. The third piece "Rain upon the River Severn" depicts the mist and rain prominent throughout a significant number of the pictures. Finally, the fourth and final piece "The Blending of Colours" refers to the blending of different light intensities and colours prominent throughout the whole work.

I would like to thank Issy and Anna for performing this piece as well as Zoë with her help with the additional engraving of the score and her knowledge on string techniques. I would also like to thank the National Museum of Cardiff for giving me the opportunity to work with them and write a piece for one of their exhibitions.

Across The Shoreline

This track is a lullaby that is written for a string quintet (2 Violins, 1 Viola, 1 Cello & Double Bass).

Millie's Lullaby

Telos, from the Greek meaning "an ultimate aim or goal", is a work for brass band. Composed in 2019, the piece reflects the changes I faced at the time when I made the decision to leave my studies at Salford University and transfer to RWCMD to study composition.
I used the piece to audition and gained a place in the composition department. Due to the pandemic, the piece was not performed live and existed solely as a Sibelius play-out, until I submitted the piece for the NYBBGB's Young Composers Competition in 2022. I placed in the top 5 and my piece was highly commended by the panel. Dr Bob Childs liked the piece so much, that he asked to put it in the RWCMD Brass Band concert. As one of his conducting students, he also gave me the honour of conducting the band in the World Première that took place in the Dora Stoutzker Hall, RWCMD, Cardiff.

During the production of Screens Have Ears (2025), I found it quite difficult to find creative inspiration on other projects. However once I took a break from writing on other projects, the inspiration started to come back.

New Horizons is my way of saying goodbye to the people that I have met and the places that I visited whilst living in Cardiff for years since I will be moving to London to undertake my postgraduate studies. The piece is inspired by my older works such as Outlines, which highlights the desolation of walking around the city at night. Whilst this track is quite somber in tone, it is also hopeful about new opportunities and experiences.

To everyone who supported me in Cardiff, as well as those I've met along the way, I will miss you all so much and hope everyone has the future they desire.

New Horizons

'The Infinite Tick' is a meditative electroacoustic work built entirely from object and field recordings captured over several months on a Tascam recorder. Anchored by the amplified ticking of a cuckoo clock, the piece gradually unfolds into an exploration of time, memory, and perceptual space. Textures shift from raw, lived sonic markers to increasingly abstract soundscapes—granular triangle wave improvisations, spectral manipulations, and processed shop ambiances blur the line between reality and imagination. Influences from Hogwarts Legacy and Manuella Blackburn emerge through lo-fi harmonic themes and spatially dynamic instrument gestures. As my puppy snores, reversed synthesis, and metallic pulses layer and dissolve, the piece ultimately closes with the clock's sudden silence—a stark reminder of time’s indifference.
