I've written an EP. Some of the inspiration came from here...

A while ago, I started doing a bit of work for a charity in Oxford called Archway. They help out people that suffer with loneliness. They might have lost their family, they might have mental health issues... all walks of life use their services. And they do some great work.

Everybody goes through their own shit, and we all wear different faces to deal with it. That thought led to the 'Characters' project being born.

All of the proceeds from sales of this will go straight to Archway. It's released on 18 August, but you can pre-order it from iTunes here. http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1252727479?ls=1&app=itunes

Lets jump straight into it...
The man the myth the legend DJ Antix also known as Jamie William has dug deep into his crates to bring us an all Drum and Bass vinyl special from the years 94-2004.

We wanted to find out a bit more about Antix and his history with Drum and Bass so we asked a few questions.
"I started mixing about 1995, my older brother was a raver and went to all the big raves 91/92. Started my music collection in 92 - first tape I got was the infamous Producer and Tanith set from universe mind body and soul 1992. Was always pushing sound on to friends.  1995 started mixing, older friends had turntables. First gig was at the bell (swindon), played with Donovan smith around 99, Played up and down the country Swindon, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Birmingham, Worcester and london to name a few.Taught for DJ academy for a while nationally, Started my own night Koncept at the regent (swindon) then moved it down town to the broadwalk, Collabed on nights with Inmate for a bit.
He has been involved with multiple radio shows, Low Frequency was his last brand/events that hosted killer nights in swindon and bristol, Jamie was co-founder of LFO audio, bought the front of house from Astoria when it closed then ended up selling that and getting the void rig. Played on the free party scene for a bit around 2000-2004. Best gig drum and bass wise was probably a ragga set I played at Broadwalk, vibes were crazy that day!!! Spent about 40k on vinyl 😭 Have played old skool/hardcore/dnb/dubstep/dub/reggae/techno. Produced stuff, done mastering for people, done sound for Fantasia 🙌🏻 which was wicked! Sure I have missed a lot but the drugs were good back then 🤣"

Listening to this mix is like stepping into a time machine and entering a rave from the late 90's, Antix just hit play and went with the flow, Im pretty adamant that we will have him back in the hot seat in the near future for a Dark Jungle mix plus he is sitting on loads of dubs ;), When I first started heading out to raves around the age of 15 Jamie was always playing out killing it, track selection was always solid and his transitions were smooth and just watching the fun he had behind the decks inspired me to get a pair of cdj's and start mixing.

Im glad I asked Jamie to get involved with the series thanks for inspiring me, If you hadn't this mix series might not have even been a thing.
