Released 1.5 years after her debut album, “stability” shows a new and refined mina norris. Riding on the same soaring guitars that carried many of the gems of 6’o clock, on “stability” they confront a range of new topics that further reflects the process of early adulthood growth; a consistent stronghold in norris’ discography. 

Listeners can find themselves resonating with various topics that constitute stability within oneself, such as body image and physical health (“bodily betrayal”), family relationships ("denver" “some plants die”), failed friendships with a tinge of horror (“petroleum girls” “the bad thing”), and gut wrenching identity death (“second guessing” “citrus”).

Ultimately, stability is about norris’ journey of the process of “stitching stability” – finding peace within oneself beyond external expectation: a message all listeners can resonate with.

My third try to mix this song so it sounds like it did on my four tracker before converting it to garage band. I think I'll leave it be now. 

Essentially speaks to the illusion of futility and feeling trapped within a hyper-capitalistic, media, image and propaganda driven culture. As individuals, we can be trapped by it and kept in a mental cage. The difference between us and the monkeys at the zoo is that ours is a psychological cage and we can get ourselves out.
