Swiss label Mina releases “softer, more feminine house and techno intertwined with vocals” and has done since 2008 thanks to artists like Rene Breitbarth, Alex Q and boss Masaya. 

This time out they turn to Edomite, a Marbella based artist who has released on the label before and counts the likes of Ripperton and Minilogue amongst his chief influences, the release also features a remix from Dorian Clein. 

 ‘Give In’ is a sultry, low-slung slow burner that’s infused with plenty of warm and humid atmospheres and meandering melodic magic. A whispered vocal is a constant presence, drifting above icy hi hats, raw kick clap combos and various other chords and pads lend the whole thing a late night neon feel that is hugely evocative. 

The remix comes from London born producer Dorian Clein, someone turned on by minimal house who has released on labels like Bilanez. His remix is a much more direct and dancefloor facing version with a darker and more steely sonic palette. 

Alien FX and weird synths pepper the landscape as the sounds of spaceships landing and taking off also help add an otherworldly character. The bassline grows in presence, slowly upping the ante until it reaches something of a peak time tempo (and grows increasingly acidic in nature) with darting synths cutting in and out and a general air of late night mischief pervades the whole thing. 

This is another heartfelt release from Mina that stays true to their original declaration. 


DI005 : Edomite - Give in (Dorian Clein rmx)

Switzerland’s Mina Records turns to the new partnership of Our Loving Sun for its 12th release, and serves it up with a standout remix from countryman Ripperton. Our Loving Sun is a new band project that sees Swede Anders Ilar and American Chris Yard team up to create a melange of ambient, dub techno, acid, pop and synth wave music with plenty of orchestral additions and guest appearances. 

Opening track ‘To Disappear’ is a swelling electronic composition filled with subtle bass guitar riffs, soaring vocals and clouds of melody that all blissful blend into one another. Like Trentemoller but at his most warm and romantic, this is rich and ethereal music. 
The same track gets remixed by Tamed boss Ripperton off the back of his own latest full length. The result is a typically long – 8 minutes –track that is epic in ambition. It takes a while to unfold from just a kick drum, but by the time it’s in full flow is a dramatic
concoction of frosty percussion, chilly icicle like melodies and a frazzled bassline that would fit perfectly into one of Ame’s most cultured sets.

‘Come Apart’ is more rooted to a steady and propulsive kick drum but again the soundscape above is awash with various guitar lines and celestial synths that light up the track from behind with a heavenly glow. There are shades of everything from Joy Division to Depeche Mode, Kraut rock to New Wave bottled up within, and it makes for absorbing listening. 

Finally, ‘One Source’ slows to a deep dub wise swagger. The vocals are haunting and ghostly – so too the lone guitar strings that get plucked – and the whole thing sounds like a huge underwater chamber with gentle currents churning and piercing beams of light shooting down through it all. 

Our Loving Sun manage to sound organic and electronic, old and new at exactly the same time. Is a clever tick masterfully pulled off, and recognition must go to Mina for unearthing this exciting pair in the first place.

Mina Recordings return with its thirteenth EP from Masaya ‘Angel’, with a Petar Dundov remix in tow.

The Chilean born and Swiss based producer Claudia Ayala aka Masaya has been making her mark for some time with a string of impressive releases on labels such as NUM, Perspectiv and of course her own imprint Mina Records. Since it’s formation in 2008 the small & perfectly formed label has welcomed names like Ripperton, Nhar, Agnes & Chaton to its roster while the head honcho herself returns for the thirteenth EP alongside Petar Dundov.

For her original ‘Angel’ Masaya utilises pulsating bass and shifting drums to map out an infectious groove over a brooding synth arrangement and ethereal modulations to dish up a dark & infectious techno cut that gets the EP off to a dynamic and head turning start.

Up for remix duty Claudia enlisted Cocoon & Music Men Records man Petar Dundov to put his own stamp on ‘Angel’. For his re-imagining the multi-talented producer works out a delicate & ambient techno record cultivated over brooding bass, lush tantalizing melodies, twinkling synths and shifting percussion to give the track an organic, expansive and emotive pallet of sound that keeps you locked and entranced from start to finish.

Following on from label-head Masaya's ‘Angel’ EP that picked up support from the likes of Peter Van Hoesen, Osunlade and Vince Watson, the ever-impressive Mina Recordings is back this March with Sabota & Grenier ‘Two Hands’ with remixes from Sei A and Sam K

‘Two Hands’ is a moody yet powerful opener featuring ethereal and emotive vox that reverberates around whirring atmospherics and soft arpeggios while it’s counterpart, ‘Piece by Piece’ is similarly melodic with honeyed tones, spongey production and hushed vocals mingling with airy pads.

First up for remix duty is Aus & Turbo Recordings man Sei A. For his version of ‘Two Hands’ he tears through to the other end of the musical spectrum with a no-nonsense techno cut cultivated for late hours and dark rooms. Last and by no means least Sam K delves into upbeat percussive rhythms, shimmering modulations and oscillating keys to round things off in deep and dynamic fashion.

Mina records head honcho Masaya returns to her ever-impressive imprint this june with a blistering four track EP " La Nuit", featuring a remix from Agaric.

  A day without music is a wasted day'.... The slogan that i'm sure the vast majority of us agree with, and a statement followed to the letter by today's artist Alex Q. Mina Records the Swiss label of DJ Masaya has with their first two releases made a bold statement of intent. To deliver only the finest deep house and techno from some of the most exciting production talents from all over europe. A wonderfully fresh label with exciting releases. We have already seen Nhar's 'Afterburner EP' backed with a beautiful mix from Ripperton &amp; Masaya, and Mastafaktor's 'There The Wind Blows' which was accompanied by excellent mixes from Agnes, Dave DK and Drei Farben House.   So to today's release, the stunning label debut from Alex Q... 'Mejis'. From an early age, 25 year old Alex has been playing musical instruments and reading music, and this lead him into the world of electronic musical production. Not one to be pigeon-holed into a certain sound, Alex constructs his music from a variety of 'life' influences. So you may elements of rock, melancholic melodies and floor ripping bass lines.

Mejis, is a thing of true beauty. Deep, lush and with a wonderful euphoric feel, it really is an outrageously good production. Its beautiful melody is wrapped in exquisite synths that envelope you in their warmth. This will be huge for so many of you!

For the remixes, Masaya has again picked well. Not one for treading the obvious path, here again she picks some exciting, fresh talent.

First up is the Czech head of Plak Records 'Chaton'. His releases already firm favourites with the likes of Vath, Hawtin and Loco Dice, here he takes us on wild and crazy ride. His remix is all about the horns. Stripped down to horns, drums and percussion, it really is something to behold!!

Next up is German 'Dana Ruh', who takes the original even deeper. Stripping it down, in places to bare synths and bass, she delivers a beautiful deep house excursion for us.

The Swiss purveyors of all things deep, Mina, return with their first digital only release. An E.P. that treads a more minimal, stripped path whilst attaining the labels high sonic standards.

Today's release comes from Swedish producer Vincent Casanova. His first true nightclub experiences were at New York's legendary 'Twilo'. 1999-2001 saw Vincent drawn to the nightspot, studying the opening DJ's each night as they took the art of the warm-up to a whole new level. 'I liked the softer, techy, yet hypnotic sound-scapes that the DJ's were pioneering.'

Vincent has built upon these experiences, and looked to infuse the subtle and intelligent sounds into his own music. With a full artist album already under his belt on Archipel, he is set to step up with this brand new EP on Mina.

Three original productions 'We Live On Ships', 'Timeloop' and 'A Lost Warmth' are backed by a superb remix from Dessous, VIVa, Pokerflat and NRK artist David Durango. Taking on 'Timeloop' David turns the stripped down, melodica of the original into a sweet modern tribal rework.

A great start to Mina's digital imprint, and an introduction to an artist with a bright future

Three original productions 'We Live On Ships', 'Timeloop' and 'A Lost Warmth' are backed by a superb remix from Dessous, VIVa, Pokerflat and NRK artist David Durango. Taking on 'Timeloop' David turns the stripped down, melodica of the original into a sweet modern tribal rework.

31 year old Durango, real name David Duran, first became hooked on the sound of Acid House at the tender age of thirteen. At fifteen he purchased his first set of turntables, and as the 90's progressed he absorbed the full variety of electronic music, House, Electro, Trance and Techno.

Early releases came on Bambu Records and Acid Milk Recordings, and Freedom Soundz, but it was his remix of James What & Dan Berkson's 'Keep On' on Dessous that really shot David into limelight. The success of his mix lead to him contributing 'Move With Me' alongside Patrick Chardonnet's stunning 'Days Like These' on the Pokerflat 'Tournament' release and since that time he has gone on to remix and release on labels including VIVa MUSiC, NRK, Resopal and Caballero.

His recent remix of Cosmic Cowboys 'Velvet' on Kina has been heavily supported, as has his remix of Vincent Casanova's 'Timeloop' which featured on the 'We Live On Ships' EP, our most recent release. Today David steps up to the plate himself, and proves once again, that when it comes to creating melodic masterpieces, he is one of the very best, with two first class originals in 'Sleeping In The Way' and 'Velvet Forest'.

Lending her skills on the remixes is Vekton Musik and Vee Recordings boss, Mandy Jordan, who turns in two equally as rich and velvety outings in the form of her Remix and Chicago Dub.

Another beautiful release from Switzerland's Mina Records, and a tribute to the hard work of label head Claudia Ayala.

This is Mina Records' 9th release with Masaya, label boss, finally in the spotlight on production, arrangement and singing duties.

Her first EP on her own label: "Again" / "Get you" both have a minimalist melancholy feel in the electro pop vein.

"Again" is remixed by Nhar, (Frenchman who's just brought out his own EP on Riperton's Perspectiv label), giving it an 80s soft synth pop sound.

"Get You" is remixed by Yapacc, resulting in a deeply rhythmic tech-house stomper.

Switzerland’s Mina Records returns with a brand new single from label boss Masaya featuring two news cuts of emotive House music backed with remixes from Mihai Popoviciu and 
Anders Ilar…

Claudia Ayala AKA Masaya has been a respected member of House music’s inner sanctum since the release of her collaborative single with Ripperton on the Num Records label back in 2006. Since then she has gone on to release through labels such as Perspectiv and Meerestief and has launched her own Mina Records imprint, a label that has boasted music from the likes of Clara Moto, Pawas and Nhar as well as Ayala herself.Now Masaya is ready for the release of her brand new single, the 11th
release on the Mina label, entitled the ‘Rosas EP’.

The EP kicks off with the original version of ‘Ganas’, a soothing and rolling slice of offbeat, bass driven House music that features subtle vocal parts, understated melodies and an incessant bouncing vibe, quality stuff. The original version is accompanied by a remix from Romanian producer Mihai Popoviciu who strips things back and delivers a techy and hypnotic mix that provides a solid alternative.

The B side opens with the ‘dub version’ of ‘Get You’ a deep and heady piece of melodic techno that marries gentle emotive elements with a rock solid bass driven groove and Ayala’s haunting vocals. Once again the original is backed with a remix, this time provided by the prolific Swedish producer Andes Ilar who turns in and intense and atmospheric mix that journeys into gothic house territory, sublime.
