Berlin-based producer Kaufmann unveils her powerful new single “Mother” on VOLTA Records. This evocative release is accompanied by two standout remixes from Tao Andra and Mila Journeé, each bringing a distinct vibe to the energetic original.

“The vocal is undoubtedly at the centre of the track,” Kaufmann explains. “I took inspiration from a well-known System of a Down track and placed the mother at the heart of the story. It's actually my own voice, which I processed with AI, among other tools. I wanted to combine the energies of my favourite genres: techno with some psy and a pinch of metal."

Tao Andra’s remix takes the track into hypnotic, tribal-influenced techno terrain, while Mila Journeé lends her signature melodic touch with a cinematic, driving reinterpretation.

“This is my second time releasing with VOLTA Records,” says Mila Journeé. “The first was a two-track EP that did really well, and now I'm back with a remix of a really cool track by Kaufmann, at the invitation of Victor, a great friend and production partner who I love working with. So it's all about good music, friendship and good vibes!”

Bio:
Gerssein es un DJ y productor, nacido en Buenos Aires y actualmente radicado en Dinamarca. Desde muy chico se metió de lleno en la producción de música electrónica, y con el tiempo fue ganándose el apoyo de referentes importantes de la escena. Lanzó música en sellos como Genesis Music y Future Avenue, y compartió cabina con artistas como Nick Warren, Henry Saiz, Danito & Athina, Mariano Mellino, Jimmy Van M, Martin Garcia, entre otros.

Su inspiración nace de la búsqueda constante y del desafío de llevar a las personas por un viaje sonoro con profundidad y emoción. Su forma de entender la música es progresiva, siempre con la intención de contar una historia que evoluciona y que conecta tanto con la mente como con el corazón.

Además de su camino como artista, Gerssein también es cofundador de Audiophiles Kollektive, un proyecto con base en Dinamarca que busca usar la música como una herramienta de conexión y conciencia.

Hoy está enfocado en seguir desarrollando su sonido, con nueva música que verá la luz en 2025.

Benny Sonhar - He began his adventure with electronic music in his early teenage years. Even then, simple playing with sounds in the first DAW turned into a great passion. Over the years, he analyzed various music genres to become more closely associated with melodic branches of electronic music. He plays from Indie through House, Progressive to Melodic Techno. As he himself says, he does not limit himself to a specific style because in each genre you can find "gems". William Medagli, Thallulah & Shemsu mark their debut on ICONYC with their brand new single 'Arizona' that delivers a slice of early spring vibes. The track kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth. The trio's trademark beat manipulation is prevalent, as all manner of elements drift in and out of earshot. Perfect for beat loving club crowd and to get you in the mood for a big night out.

OIBAF & WALLEN, who need no introduction created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as their restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up we have Paul Sawyer, the English maestro known for his polished sound, keeps the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before its drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear, yet sounding fresh – His transcendent touch up takes the energy levels up a notch, but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

Last but not least we have a remix courtesy of Arash Shadram, who delivers a trademark deep melodic mix with infectious chords, intense drums and smooth breakdown. It's all about the groove, cool melodic vibes and the driving beats that are working their magic around Arash Shadram's wonderfully arranged keys that create an irresistible rhythm while clever chords take the mind on a trip. 

With 'Arizona' William Medagli, Thallulah & Shemsu really show that there're no boundaries, as this beautiful melodic gem guides you to a full-on club laden, melodic hug of a release that will cause many smile induced moments!
