Back in May 2007, two supposed Kylie demos got leaked all over the Internet: 
they were called ´Excuse My French´ and ´When The Cat’s Away´, but it wasn’t clear whether it was really Kylie singing on both (with the help of a backing vocalist) or a session singer.
Just one year later, the mystery got solved when I happened to know the actual girl who recorded them: she was named Mia Crispin (stage name Mia J), she had cowritten the tracks with London based producer/songwriter Daniel Sherman and they had pitched both demos to EMI/Parlophone purposely for Kylie.
The songs are produced by Mantronix, a duo formed by Kurtis Mantronik and Touré Embden that used to be very popular in the 80’s for mixing hip hop beats up with electro funk music.
On both Excuse My French and When The Cat's Away, Mia’s vocals are pitched and do sound very similar to Kylie’s in order to show what the tracks could’ve sounded like whenever Kylie decided to record them, but unfortunately they got scrapped by her A&R team in 2007, while picking new material up for what eventually became the X album.
