Forever on the quest to bring the world the music we love. We've got one you're going to like... the time is here, the time is now, and what a trip it was to get here. Crossfrontier Audio have hit a landmark in their releases thus far, so it was only right to give you something special.
For our 50th release, yes the big 5-0, we present to you, a joint effort of 3 original works from none other than Marc Poppcke and MUUI, for the very first time. Teaming up together in the studio for these two was a long time coming, but that has finally ended, the label boss and production maestro give us the remarkable Grey Feathers EP.
On mind-bending tracks like Antonym and Elsa, we already knew of the magic these two can conduct when remixing each others work, both meddling on the pads like devils onto sin. So, with them joining forces, the results are like two wicked Alchemists stirring the pot, creating dance-floor panacea and providing extraordinary musical gold, and what a couple of tracks we've been given. 
No remixes, no edits and no dubs – the Grey Feathers EP is all original and brand new works, untouched and exclusive stuff that gets you all kinds a fucked up. Twisting, turning, rising, teasing... playfully lofting every note to take you into the upper echelons; don't say we didn't warn you. Whether it's the dancing keys of Grey Feathers, the hypnotic bass and powerful kicks in Amita, or the crack of dawn after-show haze of Anyone There, Marc Poppcke and MUUI have taken their time in crafting these tracks, and they're here for you to enjoy; from rave to room, headphones to speakers, play after play.
We'd like to say thank you and much, much, much love to everyone that has played, shared and supported our music in any way over the years (specifically at high volumes), we're humbled by the love we get right back, and this is all for you.  
The Grey Feathers EP will be released on Crossfrontier Audio on August 1st.

You could say that in general there are two types of people, those for whom the number 13 is a symbol of a terrible future and those who face it as a challenge, growing in adversity. Nølah belongs undoubtedly to this second group. Her new EP "Oddity" is the thirteenth reference of Hopeless, label creation of the duo Lower & Osp with which he had already worked in the past.

Music has been racing through Nølah's veins since she was just a child. Her classical formation joins her participation in various rock bands culminating in an absolute passion for electronics. An eclecticism present not only in it’s trajectory but in it’s character, with which this artist proves that there is no frame that can contain it. Hypnotic melodies are the hallmark of the singular and always surprising Progressive and Emotional Techno developed by Nølah. After editing in Parquet Recordings or Tulipa Recordings, and to reach outstanding positions in Beatport, she repeats in Hopeless with "Oddity", EP conformed by the suggestive tracks: "Laquesis", "M87", "Minos" and "Warmhole ".

In the distance the sound of sirens roared loudly and the wind blew fiercely in the midst of the midnight hour. He looked upwards towards the stars and wondered what on earth had happened that it had emerged as such that he would be a man of the dark. A man of no home and of no fixed abode. 

Jimi Jules releases a new EP on the renowned imprint and club from Berlin Watergate. An intriguing house focused EP with a low slung mood perfect for the early morning.

PREMIERE: Jimi Jules - Abandoned Soul [Watergate]

Clash Lion is a mix of three personalities; Shall Ocin, TERR and Daniel Watts. Three artists with different musical backgrounds merging forces to create a truly eclectic and open-minded label. Starting out in 2017, a release from Maetrik set the path for the new combers, which lead to substantial praise for their selection of artists thus far, including ANNA, TERR and Risa Taniguchi. Label boss Shall Ocin provides the first release of 2019 this March with ‘Stay Here’. One who’s not afraid to mix it up, Shall’s career has risen quickly with tracks signed to Ellum and Hotflush, with this latest release showcasing some of his finely tuned, more melodic styled electronica.
Opening with the title track, ‘Stay Here’ sandpaper percussion and a pounding 808 quickly reveal the rich vein of analogue gooiness Shall has in store. Keyed hooks and a stabby Moog bass work symbiotically to create an epic soundscape of mind music. While over on the flip side ‘Boreal’ displays a Michael Jackson- inspired kick and snare combo, opening up into a whirling organ frenzy, before the sea of sound parts for a bowel-shaking bassline.

AEON, the ever evolving imprint from Alex Niggemann, continues to push musical boundaries with its second release of 2019 from the Belgium-born, Berlin-based Joris Biesmans.

Nie Te Doen has an element of inquisitivity to it. A bumpy Indie Dance number with a broken beat. It builds steadily as the energy within it rises. Biemans explains that the track was born ​“after playing some open air festivals in the summertime. For me this track has a very specific and positive energy”. The aptly named lead track ​A Long Road with its upbeat bounce, melodic synths and mesmerising breakdown, first came to be fourteen years ago. ​Mushroom Cloud ​takes the EP down a darker path. It’s grittier than the preceding tracks. Building with fire into a forceful beat, it charges ahead. Of the track Joris says ​“it’s a bit less happy. Throughout the track you have the feeling you that you have walked through a dark place”​. The EP closes with ​Piramides. I​ t’s dreamy with an air of euphoria, ambient with a glimmer of hope - the calm after the storm. ​“The name ‘Piramides’ is derived from the fact that the core idea is built around pyramid shaped arpeggios.”

Joris Biesmans’ ​skills as a producer and DJ have seen him showcase his sounds worldwide, taking in Thailand, Tokyo, Glasgow and Lisbon amongst others. Biesmans’ love for analogue saw him set up his own label, TVe Recordings in 2016 with the aim to provide “an escape from the overload of digital culture”. The label has seen him work with notable names including Man Power, Aera and Lord Of The Isles. In 2017 he signed to John Digweed’s hugely influential Bedrock imprint and 2018’s vinyl-only release on Rhythm Cult shot to the number one spot in the German Techno charts. In 2019, Biesmans shows no signs of slowing down​. He recently released on Jennifer Cardini’s highly regarded ​Correspondant label with another release imminent as well as providing music for ​Rebirth, Future Disco and 17 Steps.

Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan’s inimitable imprint Ouïe sees the long-time collaborators return with their second EP on the label since its 2016 launch.

Inaugurated as an experimental space for left- eld artists, the burgeoning label has secured a coveted reputation for issuing story-telling, evocative cuts which blur genres and challenge dance oors. With this stirring, three-track outing, the duo once again steer Ouïe as being a valuable source of essential electronica for open-minded music lovers.

The atmospheric ‘Flying Lizard’ is a stunning masterclass of dreamy, emotive soundsca- pes, with rousing drums beating the terrain while the track soars with an enrapturing melody.

‘Huch’ has listeners craving dance oor heat with goading afro drum rhythms taking the lead before an elevating synth line weaves in some much-welcomed euphoria. Closing the EP is ‘Alambic’, a track equally as provoking in its afro-inspired drum pattern and percus- sion, and it’s one certain to invoke a positive response as pulsing pads drive momentum up a notch.

Moscow based Slow House heroes Geju contribute a wonderful remix in their own signature sound.

Acid Pauli & Nico Stojan - Flying Lizard

With another surefire fire hit in the works, Cocoon Recordings demonstrates once again it’s got the stuff that keeps us coming back for more. It’s also no surprise to find out that Apir is actually the alter ego of Tim Green whose decade long relationship with Cocoon Recordings culminated with last year’s acclaimed “Her Future Ghost“ LP. Here, together with New York freshman Justin Marchacos, he continues this rich vein of form. He states: 

“For most of my career I’ve always liked to experiment within different sub genres, but I have released all of my dance music under my own name….. Ultimately I think it was holding me back. Im finding this new approach to be working really well so far and can’t wait for you to hear the forthcoming results from both my Apir & Tim Green projects.”

The Italian writer Italo Calvino described melancholy as “sadness that has taken on lightness”, an idea that perfectly encapsulates the emotional pull and insatiable drive of top notch melodic techno. “Holocene“ by Apir & Justin Marchacos is just that, an electronic soundscape of epic proportions, built for a huge soundsystem and best experienced under cover of a warm, balmy summer night. 

The B-side houses “The Fifth”. A warm, percolating, arpeggiated bass line acts as the driving force on this stripped down excursion, while gentle automation lends a crackling neon glow to proceedings. It’s a slow burning affair that peaks as gleaming hi hats slice through the darkness to reveal another mystical riff, dancing and flickering in the twilight.
