In 2001 the debut single "Castles in the Sky" was released by Ian Van Dahl. The vocals were originally recorded by Marsha, however, the producers felt that Marsha wouldn't make a good front woman for the act and therefore cast Cindy Mertens for the role. This decision proved to be quite controversial at the time as Cindy mimed to Marsha's vocals both in the video and during live performances. She was later replaced, however, by Annemie Coenen due to her poor performance at live shows. Annemie continued to mime to Marsha's vocals before a re-recorded version appeared on the debut album, Ace. There are two different videos for the track. The first is the regular radio edit which shows a selection of dancers in an underground sewer. The second video uses the Peter Luts radio edit and features clips of an instrument being played amongst clips of the original video. The song achieved great success through-out Europe, charting at no.3 in the UK singles chart.                                                                                                                                                              nn

Waldo’s story is that of a Hollywood film. He began attending parties at 19 years old. The scene in Greenville SC. at that time [1998] was a strong wave that had hit from deep down south in the Florida night clubs. Funky breaks were dominant in Greenville and pretty much all over the southeast. At the time Artist such as Icey, Sipmly Jeff, Baby Anne, Gumbee, Doc roc, and many more were making their local debut in our area. However Waldo was never much of a party kid. He came in as a DJ. It was MindCycle’s own “Kor -E” who saw the potential in this kid from G-ville. Waldo Didn’t have much of a choice. The elements of life had drawn a line in the sand and it was either choose to find a new out or go down like so many kids before us were doing. Waldo made the right choice of course and it must have been an easy one because his ability to beat match came almost overnight. He had a real ear for original talent and would play a lot of the old school jams that he still is known to drop today. It wasn’t long before this wonder kid from Greenville was rocking decks all over the tri-state area. Atlanta, Charlotte, Florida, you name it, He’s wore it out. From early 1999 on Waldo and Kor-e took up residency in Club Millennium, a local bass shack that while small; was a ground breaking spot for local talent and ravers alike. Soon to follow this seven day a week spot was Club Astro I. Once a multiplex movie theater, this venue was what the locals were waiting for. The Club owner decided to do something that would set this town off, a Top 40 vs. Break Beats multilevel venue. This of course is true of the set up in most big city venues, so this gave Waldo a chance to gain experience on a greater level of responsibility as not only a resident DJ, but as a promoter and event planner as well. Through the years MindCycle Productions has fed off the energy that came from the hard work and the vision that originated from the mind of your modern troubled youth. Which goes to show that this label not only has the experience in music, but also learned a lot of valuable lessons about life and what it takes to make it. Today Waldo is the father figure to his crew of nasty talent. Not only raising them up to rock, but showing others the love and respect it takes to be real, be down , and be MindCycle!!!
