As Xyra approached the crow, the crow spoke to him in a wordless language. It was like he had received a broadcast transmission directly to his frontal cortex, comprised entirely of incomprehensible glyphs. Xyra could not make sense of the strange symbols, and grew increasingly concerned. Then, all of a sudden, it was like someone (or something) had flipped a switch – the glyphs untangled simultaneously, and the knowledge they revealed was almost as debilitating to Xyra as the presence of the glyphs in the first place. It all made sense... he had encountered the seamless unspeakable something... and it had spoken to him.

Old Good Days

The Garden of Arborea is the latest in soundcloud.com/misledconvoy’s Black Mountain Transmissions atmospheric dub series, recorded live in quadrophonic sound before being meticulously refined in the studio for stereo listening.

The Garden of Arborea was the theme for this year’s Luma Light Festival in Queenstown, for which Mike, as the musical director, composed a series of immersive surround soundscapes for different zones and light installations. 

Following the festival, Misled Convoy was invited to perform at Nano Festival, for which he weaved all the Luma soundscapes into a continuous, multi-track collage and played that live on a quadrophonic system. Recordings of this performance, along with all the control data, were then taken into the studio, where they were shaped into a stereo composition. 

The Garden of Arborea evolves organically, growing and shifting like the natural world that inspired it, with atmospheres unfurling slowly, punctuated by rhythmic accents and deep bass drops. 

Black Mountain Transmissions perfectly complements Misled Convoy's Translations remix series, allowing him to further explore the sonic universe free of commercial constraints.

Part 2: The Unknown 

Weeks passed, and the glittering promise of Proxima-A began to dull. Behind its towering facades lay something darker. Xyra ventured into the underbelly, a place of shifting shadows where no light reached. The streets throbbed with life, but it was a life he couldn't understand - an unspoken code whispered between those who survived here. The city had secrets, ancient and cruel. Enerthium wasn't just currency-it bound people, enslaved them to their desires. For the first time, Xyra felt a gnawing unease. The promise of freedom felt distant, tangled in forces beyond his grasp.

Part 3: Crow

Xyra met the crow on an empty street at dusk. Its eyes gleamed with an intelligence that mirrored his own. It perched on a broken console, feathers ruffled as if mocking the city's cold, mechanical heart. The crow spoke without words, drawing him closer. It led him through forgotten alleys, showing him the city's decaying soul. Xyra saw through the crow's eyes —the desperation, the decay beneath the surface glitter. It was a warning, or perhaps an invitation. He couldn't tell. All he knew was that the crow was watching, waiting.
