After visiting a Club Classics party a while ago it inspired me the next morning to get behind my old SL1200 decks again and dust of and revamp some of those old and forgotten vinyls I have ;-) I've tried to serve you a mix of famous house anthems from the 1990 - 1992 days when house definitly showed as a sound to stay and got me hooked as a 12 year old kid.

The mix is done from all original vinyls, purely spontaneous and done in a classic style of mixing from those days with the occassional slight error ;-) But hey, no computers, no CD's, no editing, just pure vinyl skills on the fly on two SL's :-) To give it that oldschool feel I recorded it on a mixtape first (yep, still got a tapedeck :-P)

DJ MindFlux - House Classics mix 1990-1992

After visiting a Club Classics party a while ago it inspired me the next morning to get behind my old Technics SL1200 decks again and dust of and revamp some of those old and forgotten vinyls I have ;-) In this set I'm mixing the famous clubhouse and trance anthems from the 1997/1998 days when this sound was becoming popular in the Netherlands and especially club iT in Amsterdam. Just in the days when club iT was it, one of THE places to be in Dutch clubbing in that period. It were the cheesy club days where the Gabber and harder music were past and I started to focus on more danceable music ;-)

DJ MindFlux - Clubmix 1998 sounds - when club iT was iT

After recently visiting the famous Awakenings techno party again after a long time which was a so called "1997 - 2001 special" it inspired me to get behind my old decks again and revamp some of those old and forgotten techno vinyls which aren't heard anymore these days. I've tried to take you on a journey through a selection of what I believe were (one of) THE great techno sounds of those days of which some were played by the big jocks and others were rarities received well in my early DJ sets back then. Starting with warm and beautiful Italian sounds looping towards the more uptempo German stuff and bouncing all the way towards the infamous "ieh-aah" tribal techno from Eastern Europe. Listen, dance or party, whatever you like :-) and let me know if you have any feedback. DJ MindFlux - A Tribute to Awakenings 1997 - 2001  mix recorded 04-04-2010

Electronic music lover since 1989. Got infected by Double Trouble &amp; The Rebel MC, Technotronic and other Hiphouse music at the time. Mainly from the Turn up the Bass CD's which started their series in 1989. Later influences were the harder Belgian and Dutch sound starting in 1990/1991. I remember myself in 1991 as a 12 year old kid getting a mixtape from a friend's older brother. It was a hard sound similar to the sound which I heard on the Turn up the Bass Houseparty 1 CD I just bought with my last saved pocketmoney. From that moment on I was infected by housemusic, I knew this was the music I wanted to listen to all day long. The energy of this sound was so overwhelming. Untill today, that Houseparty 1 CD has been the best purchase I've ever done in my entire life......... ;-)

Somewhere in 1994 I bought my first cheap turntables, a mixer and our first hardcore gabber records together with some friends. We were totally addicted to the gabber sound and started getting more and more mixtapes in the circuit from friends with mixes from heroes like Gizmo, Darkraver, Dano and Buzz Fuzz. We went to our first Rave in late '94 and it fed our addiction more and more as we wanted to learn to mix the records like our heroes did. A new addiction was born: The Art of Mixing.
Later on, halfway the 90's I started mixing more 'dance-able' ;) music like club, trance and techno, and always keeping the love for collecting houseclassix.

I enjoy many different kinds of (electronic) music and continue to collect, blend and play a wide variety of styles today. I usually play house and techno, from deep stuff to funky and pumping uplifting sounds. I also love to play houseclassix and eclectic with downtempo, reggae and hip hop influences. I collect lots of different music especially on vinyl, still a holy medium to me, and I think when a certain track fits well in a set, the audience digs it and the timing is right, I play it. No matter if it's old or new or club or acid or breakbeat, I play it. That's my style, I think that is what DJ-ing is about. I love to build it up from scratch, take the people on a journey and warm up crowds to a climax.
