After their significant first two releases, Mindless Records follow up with their studio partners Poliformat, bringing us “First Time In The Cinema”.

Poliformat collective stands tall on the local scene, having previously released on local labels and a well remembered summer’s anthem - Bebi Dol edit from last year.

True to the Mindless aesthetic, Poliformat’s EP brings the groove on the table with a soft lean toward techno, keeping the balance right throughout. 

First original score is titled Latch, where a heavy beat and bass drag us into a moody, cinematic atmosphere. The energy shifts with the piano chords, as the neatly arranged soundscapes play with tension and release.

Badem dives us deeper and showcases an array of what sounds like alien communication technology. As the track moves forward, the groove takes us over and, at the climax it all dissolves into a display iridescent synth lines.

At the heel of the three tracker is a remix of Mindless’ own Gard, a prominent artist under his own name. Having heard Badem he instinctively rewrote it into his own vision: leaning against the original’s melodic structure, Gard stamped it with a progressive drum arrangement.
