The journey begins in the valley, where instinct guides the first steps. There is no plan, only a feeling - to leave the car behind and follow the nearest path upwards. The trail leads through a forest drenched in moss, damp earth underfoot, and the quiet breath of pines shading the way.
It is a beginning wrapped in stillness, as if the mountain itself is waiting.

As the ascent grows steeper, the landscape opens little by little. Between the trees, sudden windows of light reveal sweeping views of the surrounding hills, endless forests stretching across the horizon. Each pause carries a sense of wonder, the climb itself becoming part of the rhythm. The higher the path winds, the lighter the heart becomes, as though every step pulls the spirit closer to something timeless.

Near the summit, a hidden cave emerges. From the outside, it seems small and unassuming - but inside, it unfolds into a vast, otherworldly chamber. Stalactites and stalagmites form silent sculptures, while the last glow of the setting sun pours through the entrance, bathing the stone in a magical light. It feels like stepping into a secret only nature can hold, a moment of awe suspended in time.

This EP carries those impressions into sound — the quiet beginning in the valley, the momentum of ascent, and the luminous mystery discovered at the peak. A translation of fleeting beauty into rhythm and tone, held like an echo of the mountain itself..

Listen to SCIONAUGH's Sonic Palette in this Universal Tribe episode. The notorious mad scientist of Australian bush prog, Scionaugh is a project borne of curiosity and sonic exploration. Scionaugh brings together a perfect balance of alien, instrumental and organic sounds that are equal parts groovy, driving and playful. Scionaugh has been a long standing member of Universal Tribe with his first release back in 2017. In this time Scionaugh has released a wide range of music featured in this set as well as curated our Deep Daytime compilation series Subspecies. Founded in Melbourne in 2013, Universal Tribe Records has grown from deep underground roots into a globally respected imprint, predominantly focusing on Bush Prog, Deep Daytime, and Psychedelic Techno. Midweek grooves with Interception ! 

This set marks his debut on the UTR Mix Series, and it captures both the roots of his sound and where he’s heading. The flow begins in the lush grooves of bush prog, organic, rolling and hypnotic before gradually opening the door to the heavier atmospheres of dark prog. The intention was to create a journey that feels grounded yet evolving, teasing the darker edge without losing the drive and fluidity of the dancefloor. It’s a reflection of where his inspiration lies; in that tension between light and shadow, groove and depth.

About the artist:
Interception started his journey mixing tunes at the beginning January 2022. Since then he has been slowly making his way into the scene DJing at numerous venues such as My Aeon and New Guernica and organising underground doofs. Max also started his producing career curating techno and psytrance tracks, and released his Debut EP Boundless on Universal Tribe records in 2025. Listeners are provided with a journey through a distinct psychedelic sound varying between psytrance, bushprog and psytech.
