Thanks Andreas & Adam for having this discussion as it really clarified the UASF effort, potential outcomes, and reinforced my understanding of how the Bitcoin blockchain behaves ;-)

"On average, the Bitcoin network forks once a day"

You should not compare ETC to a Bitcoin chain split in my opinion. Firstly, Ethereum always has been recognized (officially) as a technology platform, not a store of value or a currency. This gives it more leeway to pull off more risky exercises in the name of innovation. When the ETC/ETH split drama happened a lot of people were able to overlook it by saying "well, this is a technology platform, it's a lot riskier and this is par for the course".   Bitcoin however, is admired for its stability, security and conservatism (a facet of security). Bitcoin is known to have a 21mil coin cap, and it is seen as a "digital gold". Another Bitcoin chain given ample power would make a mockery out of Bitcoin, it would no longer be seen as a secure store of value among large investors because "what's to stop another chain split happening and further diluting my coins value and inflating the coin supply", and it would muddy the waters immensly.

Hi Adam, 40 minutes in you state categorically that "everybody agrees that segregated witness should go in". I do not think that is the case, specifically there is an uprising against it in the Bitcoin Unlimited and r/btc communities. Can you provide more clarrification about what you meant by this?

I know it's probably for the better, but I wish AA would take a firmer position in relation to the scaling debate. It would seem he's in favour of Segwit, but also unwilling to rock the boat, so to speak. I find Adam's point of view curious because surely someone of his knowledge level can see the value in retaining one bitcoin.

Ma mère et moi venons de retrouver une K7 audio datant de 2004, glissée dans une enveloppe qui n’a jamais été ouverte. Elle l’écoute pour la première fois, dix-sept ans plus tard. Cette découverte surprenante me pousse à échanger avec elle sur la polygamie, mais aussi sur l'importance de l'oralité et de la transmission dans notre famille partagée entre France et Sénégal. Ma mère, comme beaucoup d'immigrés, a mené une double vie entre deux continents. It appears research has been hindered by the assumption that the female body works in the same way as the male body and that for women, arousal is all in the mind. There’s also a general attitude that studying sexual pleasure isn’t important and that female orgasms aren’t important to study as they serve no purpose for reproduction.



Researchers are slowly correcting these assumptions and making surprising discoveries.



We’ll take you behind the scenes to two orgasm labs to bring you the latest research on how orgasms work for women. We’ll also hear from Callista, who struggled with excruciating pain during sex for many years but was told the problem was all in her mind. Her journey to diagnosis shows how little is known, even amongst gynaecologists and doctors, about female sexual pleasure.
