Each artist has a special story to tell about their musicianship. Techno producer Desroi, who in every day life goes under the name Frederic Lindemann, has a relatively no-nonsense one. Observing from the outside, his production process seems to be one of tight structure and focus, holding great modernistic vision.

Desroi studied Composition at Folkwang University of Arts – parallel to his already ongoing career as a DJ, producer and label owner – having graduated in 2018. His craftsmanship combined with a more theoretical academic view gives him a distinguished position on the scene. Desroi is curious about exploring the bridges between contemporary music and techno, and he recently said he is less interested in arrangement, melodies and harmony, and much rather focuses strongly on textures, rhythms and new sounds. Listening to his compositions these quotes makes nothing but sense; Desroi’s techno is entrancing and layered but holds no unnecessary clutter. His tracks are so strictly organized and reduced that after spending some time with these stripped creations, the listener will discover something way more abstract than at first glance. Both as a live artist as well as a DJ, Desroi’s performances again focus on unsparingly and unsentimentally exposed material. Raw surface sounds and screeching futuristic signals prevail. Whereas the live-set is a concentrated form of relentless techno, the DJ-sets are a different journey; big room-oriented, but occasionally serving deeper vibes; small air pockets where one can gather energy before the next pounce.

Aside from releasing on his eponymous Desroi label, other highlights are appearances on Henning Baer’s Manhigh- and Shifted’s Avian imprints. Desroi is at the moment laying the final touches on his debut album, confirmed for release on “a well-known techno label” in 2019. Due in the first half of the year is an EP with the given title “Azara” on Spanish label Envra.

Known for his distinctive sound and minimalist approach, he captivates audiences with his hypnotic and driving grooves. Esteemed DJs such as MARRØN, Rødhåd, Justine Perry, DVS1 and Setaoc Mass have recognized his skill and regularly include his tracks in their sets. The great support and feedback from the scene solidifies Red Rooms' position as an emerging artist who is making waves in the electronic music community. With several releases under his belt and more to come this year Red Rooms is one to watch.

James introduced himself to the Techno world with his first big release on Joton's Newrhythmic Records in 2016 and since then he has released several EPs and remixes on other labels like Children Of Tomorrow, Platform A, N&N Records to name a few while his debut release entitled '13' came out just a few days ago on MindTrip on the third edition of our Mutable Minds series. MindTrip music, Founded by Pfirter 2006. 
Reinvented and relaunched in 2012 under the new name MindTrip.

MindTrip Music was the creation of Buenos Aires born Juan Pablo Pfirter in 2006. The digital-only label acted as a springboard for upcoming Argentinian artists and of course, Pfirter himself, introducing those talents to the rest of the world. Over the years, the fledgling label allowed Juan Pablo the ability to experiment and play with music, sounds and textures and develop his own sense of direction and focus. Collaborating and drawing influence and experience from fellow MindTrip Music artists like Jonas Kopp, Flug, Markus Suckut, Psyk and Monoloc, both the label and Pfirter grew in symbiotic proportion. But after 6 years and 48 releases, Pfirter felt the need for change.

Having released on CLR, Stockholm LTD, Stroboscopic Artefacts & Figure, Pfirter’s brand of hypnotic music has touched dancers and listeners the world over. Not only limited to the clubs, Pfirter’s productions have delved deep into the experimental side too. This is the focus and framework of the new label. 
Juan Pablo reinvented and relaunched the MindTrip imprint, showcasing the full degree of his sound. The label changed its name from MindTrip Music to
just MindTrip, releasing vinyl as well as digital utilising a bespoke artwork profile.
