Mindcasts

Internal Wave is an ongoing collaboration between The Vision Reels & Barefoot. The pair have been working closely over the past 5 years or so, collaborating and helping each other with production techniques. 

Both coming from different methods and approaches, they have found the best of both worlds here on their first EP. Mixing modular synthesis with sample manipulation and a wide range of outboard instruments and gear. 

Internal Wave Sequence 01 is the first in a series of environment based themes, the first being the ocean. Inspired by their beautiful surroundings in two tiny corners of the South of England, they recorded sounds from the ocean and coastline which formed the foundation for the EP and concept. They then let the inspiration take flow and the result is 4 tracks of subtle, tonal, melodic textures & emotions. Dreams from the eternal & internal deep blue.

For fans of the music that we promote Roel Funcken probably needs little introduction. A legend in his own right with releases dating back more than 23 years on labels such as n5MD, Ad Noiseam, Schematic, Analogical Force and his own imprints. Roel was also the organiser of the Mindcamp events in The Netherlands that featured the best IDM artists and is one of our biggest heroes and a true inspiration. Did you know Roel also makes beautiful paintings? The artwork for this mix is one example, but we urge you to check out his other works.

Mindcast kicks off with a live set from https://soundcloud.com/ebertbrothers, recorded at BOOM Festival Portugal in August 2012, performing tracks from their album "Susten Pass" (Mindwaves Music, 2011) which was reviewed very well by Cyclic Defrost, Igloomag, Headphone Commute and others.

The Ebertbrothers are Axel and Michael Ebert, an artist/composer duo living and working in Berlin. They started to collaborate in 2006, first creating video art pieces, then moving more towards a combination of visual & sound performances, which is now their main focus. So far they self-released several live recordings, plus an album (Susten Pass, 2011) and an EP (Engine Eyes EP, 2012) on Mindwaves Music.

The Ebert Brothers are Axel and Michael Ebert, an artist duo living and working in Berlin. They started to collaborate in 2006, first creating video art pieces, then moving more and more towards music production, accompanied by their own visuals. Their performances can currently be experienced in clubs and galleries in Berlin.
On stage the Eberbrothers perform with an ever evolving set of synths, drummachines and software, creating soundscapes that shift between noise, melancholy, mangled beats and wide spaces. The intense musical collage is accompanied by their own visual material.
