It may not seem like much but the song was completely mixed and mastered last night ready to upload here and for reasons I cannot explain I decided to put it into Audacity and slow it just a little bit,

i had such a fun time making this song oh my god, i know! its not very minecrafty and a bombastic song might be better fit for a disc or maybe not even this project at all but I really do think this song belongs in the nether and really encapsulates the atmosphere in the crimson forest :)))

WHAT REMAINS

so excited to finally finish this one! its very reminiscent of the music that plays in creative mode! when I was a kid all I ever played was creative mode because survival was too scary for me, I built really tall towers out of emerald blocks and pretended it was all survival to my friends, you can even hear those friends in this track :)!

oh my GOD I had so much fun with this one! It's not for any fight in particular like some other songs coming in the future, just for when you feel action-ready (maybe a raid or woodland mansion?)

When I was around 9 or 10 I watched a video by a YouTuber named StampyLongNose where one of his friends on the Xbox 360 Edition put on a Santa skin and left presents around his world. I of course thought that meant Santa would join my world too. So on the night of Christmas Eve, I left my laptop on Minecraft in a room over from a bunch of chests (which was so bad that I'm pretty sure it did a better job heating me than the heating system in my house)

And of course, in the morning, the chests were still empty, I tried really hard not to cry but I felt so stupid for believing it that I just couldn't help it. I cried as quietly as I could so my parents and brother wouldn't hear me sad on Christmas. But then something interesting happened, Haggstrom by C418 came on, I'd been playing Minecraft for months at this point but never heard this song before. That song made me feel something special, I didn't know why because I was 9, music creation and theory weren't even concepts in my head at that point. But that simple melody dried my tears, and it's still my favorite to this day.

MISSTEP

It's been a little bit! Sorry!! Got super caught up in College finals and focused Askew efforts to other platforms, but expect a TON of music in the coming weeks! 

At first, the mouse was hesitant to believe their stories. It had never ventured beyond the alley before and was content with its simple life. But the park mice persisted, telling the little mouse stories of the lush green parks, the sparkling fountains, and the towering buildings that surrounded the alleyway.

Silent Alchemy

Days turned into weeks, and the village began to heal its wounds. However, something extraordinary happened. In the depths of night, under the pale glow of the moon, The man returned to life, but not as he once was.

The FINAL Nether song!!!! yippee!! and a very very silly one at that. I am so aware that this song sounds distinctly nothing like Minecraft but I could not possibly be convinced to remove it, it is cool and also the skeletons are threatening me!

Askew isn't actually my first attempt at a resource pack, not even the first with custom music I've tried! That honor would go to "Ultimate Minecraft of Epicness" a pack I made when I was 11.

I didn't really have many friends when I was younger, my brother was my biggest supporter. We would hop on some server with my terrible laptop and his even worse laptop and play very badly in pvp or skywars or even just regular building.

I got OBSESSED with texture packs and constructed a monstrous amalgamation of different packs to create what I considered "Ultimate" (and also epicness) Which, unfortunately, included a ton of blinding neon colors and....anti-aliasing on transparency.....

I downloaded some dubstep song off youtube to put on a music disc and made all the Netherrack look like Emeralds so I could trick my brother into thinking they added a new dimension.

It didn't trick him, and it didn't look very good or sound very good or feel very good (the FPS dropped from 10 to 5 when we had it on)

But I liked it, and my brother liked it. That was all that I really needed at the time. :)

This track marks the last of the "standard" Askew tracks! There are no overworld songs remaining!

I originally wanted to just put Cass's entire gorgeous end poem in this description, but I think it's worth experiencing to its fullest in-game and I'd like to take this time to share my final thoughts :)!!

It's done! Minecraft: Askew and its soundtrack are finally complete!!! This stupid project went from a stupid idea all the way to a stupid final product and I could not be happier with it! I'll be honest I'm quite a bit nervous, I don't know if it's possible for anyone to enjoy this dumb idea more than me, 'cause it's never been done before! Resource Packs have had the capability to replace audio for almost a decade now and the only attempts at such have been either incomplete or plagiarized from other properties. So it's difficult to tell if this is an idea worth sinking any time into lmao
