techno

Kommen wir mit unserer 29. Podcast-Ausgabe einmal mehr nach Hamburg. Es mag sein, dass außerhalb der Hansestadt und/ oder gerade in der Online-Welt noch nicht jeder die beiden Jungs hier auf dem Zettel hat, aber das wird sich auf jeden Fall zukünftig ändern – da sind wir uns sehr sicher.

Kennengelernt haben wir http://soundcloud.com/punktpunkt als sie fern von ihrer Heimat, nämlich Dresden, die Tanzfläche im Thalia unsicher machten und zwar im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes bis zum Morgengrauen. Das Set (und auch die danach noch weiter gemeinsam erlebte Partynacht) war legendär und uns war klar: Auch die beiden müssen mal bei unserem Podcast ran!

Das Schöne ist, dass die beiden sich so gar nicht auf einen Sound festlegen lassen. Von harten, nach vorne gehenden Techno- bis hin zu chilligen Minimal- und House-Sets kennen sie keine Grenzen. Kein Wunder, dass sich ihr Name mehr und mehr rumspricht und sie mittlerweile nicht nur mehr in Hamburg weit mehr als ein Geheimtipp sind. Und da kann es dann auch mal passieren, dass sie im Übel und Gefährlich das WarmUp für niemand Geringeren als der Electro-Legende Lauren Garnier spielen.

Von Punkt Punkt werden wir noch ne Menge hören, das steht fest. Und los geht es mit diesem Set, das streckenweise an einen Kurzbesuch im sonntagmorgendlichen Berghain erinnert.

Patrick DSP has been smashing sound systems around the world for several decades, starting in his native Canada, and finally landing himself in Berlin, where he currently resides. Beginning his campaign of techno in the mid 90s in Toronto, he soon delved into the production side of things, and eventually managing. A quick study in the technical realm, he fast found himself manning the buttons for renowned labels such as Kne’ Deep Records and Unknown Forces, providing mastering, production and remixes for various labels, all the while building his repertoire of twisted pristine sounds.

In between jumping from Canada, to Brazil, to Berlin, Patrick managed to expand his abilities, not only making music from film scores to blistering techno, but also using his mastery of production to teach others their way around a studio, giving classes and lectures around the world. Never one to rest on his laurels, he was also performing across Europe, South America and North America, spreading his techno sound from intimate local clubs to festivals such as the Love Parade in Germany, ADE, MayDay, Awakenings, Fabrik, Tresor and many more.

His musical skills, along with his diverse range of technical ability, have not only resulted in an impressive discography of international releases, but have also allowed him to collaborate with some of the most talented names in techno, earning him the reputation of a true techno Renaissance man. DJ, Live Performer, Producer/Composer, Remixer, Sound Designer, Audio Engineer, Mastering Engineer, Label Manager, and Teacher; Patrick is a force to be reckoned with in the techno world.

Back at headquarters, our Yellowhead leaders are about to get attacked by a swarm of &#8216;Symbiosis&#8217;, just 
when the ever-prolific Sasha Carassi and the infamous duo Industrialyser and The Advent land their ships 
down, bringing along their own secret weapon of choice! The battle begins with our captains charging 
forth, unleashing a rocksteady rhythm section which acts as a sonic building block, while the disharmonic 
synths and the bubbling bass, provide the right amount of momentum! Sasha is up next, employing 
distorted drum elements, together with apocalyptic electronics and cavernous washes, creating havoc in 
their path! The duo picks up from there and kicks things up a notch with more filtered goodness and a 
skipping drumset, while tasty synths and impeccable programming make for a precise, calculated attack!
