Rhythm is the foundation for Chilean producer and DJ Jorge C.
The strong rhythmic bonds formed from an early childhood fascination and adrenaline from the sound of the drums to the innovations of the electro mono machine still carry an impact on the production of the long time producer.
These connections along with the influences of old pioneers like Eno or Vangelis have shaped an unusual musical palette that is distinct.
The founding of his label ​Ojodeapolo has given him the room to explore his own pathways embracing two worlds from 90s Detroit/Chicago house to future jazz, rare funk and disco. As a performer and DJ Jorge C has traveled to various places in South America like D-Edge at Sao Paulo , Europe playing at Paloma Bar Berlin and also in Japan.
He had releases on labels in vinyl format like: Matrix Recordings (Detroit), DeepArtSounds (Zürich) and Dopeness Galore (Amsterdam). His own label Ojodeapolo.cl has been too a platform to spread his own work and to include the participation of producers around the globe that he respects.

VARIA is pleased to present the next episode in its podcast series, featuring Conrad Van Orton.

Conrad Van Orton is a Rome-based artist crafting a unique sound born from the
fusion of his musical roots with Detroit and Berlin techno.

His musical journey began with his parents' record collection (glam rock, classical) and the influence of 90s Italian underground hip-hop, ignited further by local radio broadcasts, Daft Punk's "Homework" and the purchase of his first Technics turntables in 1999. A pivotal moment came in the early 2000s with a sound experimentation workshop at Rome's Teatro Vascello, led by Saverio Evangelista (Esplendor Geometrico). 

His subsequent encounter with Francesco Visconti (VSK) cemented his passion for raw, radical techno, a journey he continues to this day. Van Orton's productions, released on
labels like 30D, Attic Music, Counterchange, Emerald, Modularz, Mitsubasa and Key
Vinyl, are deep, enveloping soundscapes-each track a story, an emotion conveyed
through frequency. 

Influenced by Detroit techno, house funk, and late 90s/early 2000s Berlin techno, his performances transcend mere DJing, creating a magical atmosphere and a shared experience.

In 2020, he founded Lambda Room in Rome, focusing on mixing, mastering, and tutoring. Since late 2023, he has been a resident and active member of the Silencio collective at Cieloterra.

This episode continues VARIA’s mission: championing considered electronic expression and lasting artistry.

Siempre en la vanguardia de nuevos ritmos y sonidos apuesta por el eclecticismo en sus sesiones, siempre a tres o cuatro platos, sirviendo un energético y dinámico menú que se pasea entre el Chicago Techno, Electro, EBM, GhettoTech, Goa Trance, Detroit  Techno, UK Breaks, Italo, Footwork, Gabber o cualquier otro género con tal de sorprender en la pista. 

Su maleta ha surcado gran parte de la geografía española llevándole a pinchar en clubs tan míticos como: Specka, Camelot, Spook Factory o Metro Dance Club entre otros. Actualmente pertenece al equipo del sello HC Records donde en 2025 publicó su primer vinilo en solitario titulado Ghetto Bangers.

Altinbas - Nebula [SOMA SELECTS Premiere]

The term annex typically describes a structure joined to a main building, offering extra space or function. In this spirit, Tresor Records revives the ANNEX series with a new end-of-year collection that serves as an extension of the label and club’s output, adding to the creative life that has unfolded within Köpenicker Str. 70 over the past years.

Since the club moved in 2007, the Kraftwerk complex has been repurposed from its original use as a power station to fulfil multiple functions that bring people together to collaborate and congregate: Office, venue, club, exhibition space, and home to the Berlin Atonal festival, the Tresor Foundation, and the Academy of Subcultural Understanding. With the arrival of the Hard Wax record shop in 2023, the building now offers another way for the like-minded to come together and to share ideas in a common space.

ANNEX echoes the many roles of the building by fostering introduction, connection, and creation: all of the music within was created by individuals directly linked to Tresor: from club staff and residents to Hard Wax employees and long-time friends.

Across 28 tracks, the compilation unites artists from various backgrounds and generations, some collaborating for the first time, creating a moment in motion as Tresor heads into a new year.

We're back again with a new mix from a DJ/producer whose sound we've long admired, Chile's Jorge C.

"Rhythm is the foundation for Chilean producer and DJ Jorge C," his bio begins, and a cursory listen makes it hard to argue with that. Through his label Ojodeapolo he's explored the multifaceted sounds of Chicago house and Detroit house, giving a platform to many of the genre's giants known and unsung, from Rick Wade to Hieroglyphic Being, Chicago Skyway to Kai Alcé. 

He's also released his own music on labels including Matrix Recordings (Detroit), DeepArtSounds (Zürich) and Dopeness Galore (Amsterdam) as well as Ojodeapolo.cl.
