Following a hiatus, Bristol-based Ryan Artifact, fka Artifact, has reunited with Anja Schneider to put out the Let It Go EP, a storming new release on Sous Music. 
 
The title track is a big-room weapon of the highest order. A thick, rich bassline forms the backbone of the track, in which all elements are polished to a hi-shine. The repeated vocal snatch is subtle but hypnotic, the drums are delicate but purposeful, and gentle synth flourishes provide just the right amount of intrigue. 
 
“The Way It Did” is just as impressive, with another whomping bassline doing the heavy lifting. Playing like a sister track to “Let It Go”, it features a similar vocal grab and tight, considered arrangements, but picks up the pace and adds a peppy build. The resulting track is a surefire weapon at night and day parties alike, guaranteed to get the dancefloor rocking. 
 
“Believe Nothing” completes this family of tracks, with all three complementing each other. Built around a rocking beat, lively chords, tetchy choral synths and the same detached vocal, this one, primed for warmup or cool-down duties, is made to keep the party simmering. 
 
Ryan’s relationship with Schneider began in 2017, when he was putting out equally killer tunes on her back-then Mobilee label. The Let It Go EP follows the inclusion of Ryan’s track “However Far Forward” on a Sous compilation last year and sees him in the same fine form we’ve come to expect from him.

Our penultimate release of 2023 brings the musical magic of our good friend Mir Omar with his 2 track EP titled Departures / Inner Core. We are very honoured to also welcome Mir to onedotsixtwo for his first EP release with. He last graced us back in 2021 with his remix of Mike Isai - Alya.

New York native Mir has established himself globally as a producer at the forefront of progressive house with tracks and remixes garnishing support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and many other. He is known for diversity of sounds that always build around intricate and clever melodies that always create aural mayhem whenever played.

Both tracks on this EP ooze class and savoir faire and highlight just how talented Mir is.

The first track Departures takes you on melody led journey with arps and a grooving baseline.
The second track Inner Core follows a much darker path perhaps conjured from the warehouse parties of Brooklyn with its metallic and gritty baseline and drums with an industrial lead that you might say and hear draws inspiration from the Nine Inch Nails or perhaps even Front 242, all designed with the 21st Century in mind.

I'm a retired City Worker from The Brantford Ontario Works Dept of 34 years of service,
I was 9 years old when I started taking drum lessons with the Ontario Conservatory Of Music,
I taught drum lessons and played in a band that played blues, country, 50's, blue grass,
I started making playlists at the age of 12 years old (1975) Pioneer Turntable, Cassette Deck, Receiver & two 50 watt Speakers.
