Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

The last sob of little Afromaniacs has been stifled, and the orchestra has once more been reminded of its duty. The ceremony begins again but there are few now left to dance with, and so very soon the collection is over and promiscuous dances once more begin. It is now after midnight, however, and things are not as they were before. The dancers are dull and heavy most of them have been drinking hard, and have long ago passed the stage of exhilaration. They dance in monotonous measure, round after round, hour after hour, with eyes fixed upon vacancy, as if they were only half conscious, in a constantly growing stupor. The men grasp the women very tightly, but there will be half an hour together when neither will see the other's face. Some couples do not care to dance, and have retired to the corners, where they sit with their arms enlaced. Others, who have been drinking still more, wander about the room, bumping into everything ; some are in groups of two or three, singing, each group its own song. As time goes on there is a variety of drunkenness, among the younger men especially. Some stagger about in each other's arms, whispering maudlin words. 
This is the Jungle Of Ufordia world.......don't be afraid.....come in.....once it will get all over your body, it will never come out again!

In the year 1997, Nickodemus & Jay B met through friend & music fanatic Eddy Plenty. At the time, Nickodemus was DJ'ing at Organic Grooves & Giant Step parties & experimenting with sampling from his record collection from around the World. Jay B was writing music & experimenting with the latest in computer programming software. Their shared love for fat beats of soul, funk, trip hop, jazz from around the World was the common ground that made for a quick music making synergy. In the 1st year working together, they managed to make the following songs as well as a few remixes & unreleased beats that never made it off of the DAT recorder. We hope you enjoy these songs from the Brooklyn Beat Cave in 1997.
