Matteo Mussoni and Nicola Zucchi were raised on the 1970s and early 80s disco romance. The duo founded Sparkling Attitude by channelling their shared love of music machines and mirrorballs. Their debut EP draws on the magic of Italo disco, the silver screen's synthesiser soundtracks and the Italian coastline's open stretches. “Dov’eri Sabato Sera” recounts the tale of unrequited love; youth, possibility and dashed hopes play out to a crisp rhythm and wistful melodies. Those heart-strained notes then take the limelight for the instrumental version, analogue strings soaring to impassioned heights. The flames keep burning on the flip with “Melodico Romantico”. Disco-infused, bold and brazen beats are made up of dark rouges and effervescent greens as breathy vocals whisper. Mussoni and Zucchi dive deep into their machines for the curtain close. Inspired by Japanese culture, made in Italy, daring key stabs and astral echoes are draped in a late-night groove for this glittering finale. Joyous sounds from a Sparkling Attitude.

Prepare to be transported into a realm of sonic enchantment with the forthcoming release from Berlin's renowned Iptamenos Discos. Boys’ Shorts, the dynamic queer duo hailing from Greece, comprised of Vangelis (formerly of LAGASTA) and London based Tareq, are set to unveil their EP 'Something To Forget’.  

Following their successful ‘New Era’ EP which was on high rotation on Berlin’s RBB Radioeins, and lending their remix skills to Local Suicide on their Eros Anikate album, Boys’ Shorts are yet again back on Iptamenos Discos with ‘Something to Forget’. The duo consists of Vangelis and Tareq who have been friends for over a decade and have had an incredibly successful year, with a string of highly praised releases on Permanent Vacation, Live At Robert Johnson, HE.SHE.THEY & Pets Recordings, and DJ sets in esteemed venues including London’s E1 and Berlin’s Berghain as well as remixing Alison Goldfrapp and supporting her on tour.  

‘Something To Forget’, the first single and title track starts with a strong kick and a prominent snare which punches through the mix and becomes a driving force which anchors the track. The bouncy and energetic bassline is contrasted with lyrics which are somewhat melancholic, however they are performed in a way that gives them an underlying sense of optimism.  

‘Something To Forget’ is sure to be a revered release by Boys’ Shorts and another exciting addition to the Iptamenos Discos catalogue. The full EP including both remixes will be released on all digital/streaming platforms and 12” vinyl on June 14th, 2024.

GC's first reference, titled “Enter the Wild” is stuffed with elements brought together to create a mix of percussion, groove, and excitement, an after-midnight fiesta combining Anastasia Zems’s massive vocal talent with what the label’s creator, Mike Sacchetti had envisioned probably influenced by a tribal dance he saw in a movie and a long bike ride home.

Both stepped out a bit from their living room couch to deliver something fresh to the sound of Indie Dance. And as if it wasn’t confusing enough to your expectations, two special guests came to spend the evening at the remix department: the french based Moroccan rooted artist Zaatar widens the sound spectrum while spitting out cosmic dust with a slow builder re-interpretation piece of “The World’s a Dream”, ultimately to hand it over to Berlin’s established producer Radial Gaze to properly fuel the rocket with an acid energized version just tailored for the peak time enthusiasts.

Serhii Kadiristy is a long-time Regulardisco formation member and now a label owner sets the tone with a spring release ""Sensory Spaces"" EP for the summer release season on Regulardisco. The EP balances between eclectic dance melodies and abstractly tropical sounds. This is the type of music that Ukrainian electronic scene lacks drastically; that’s what moved Kadiristy towards starting a label.

The EP is four original tracks written between February and April 2024 (except ""Vortex"" previously, which was available on the compilation by the label System - the version on this release is slightly rebuilt and got a fresh remaster). Additionally, there's a spacy “emotional support” remix for the title track by Lauer and a harder club adaptation of “Apex” by Bawrut.

The idea uniting these tracks is the continuation of the search for peace in a complex time for everyone and the continuation of Serhii's electronic experiments. The story goes the full circle here - from dreamy intro “Death in Bloom” to a clubby tribal piece by Bawrut.

Cover art is by Odesa-based artist Olga Rodzik, who’s been working with Regulardisco on the event’s posters and now continuing the collaboration with the label.

Sensory Spaces EP

Born at the end of the 80s in Bastia, Corsica, François Dagregorio alias "Valerj" comes from a generation in which long formats occupy a special place in the discographies of electronic music artists. It was with this in mind that the production of "Le début du beau", Valerj's debut album, began: an almost fantastical desire to show something more intimate, to tell a story, perhaps his own story.
A child of dance music, dj since the age of 16, in the space of just three ep's Valerj's productions have already toured the world, appearing in the sets of major players on the dark disco / indie dance scene such as Jennifer Cardini, Curses, Perel and Modular Project. Always keen to collaborate and exchange ideas, since 2022 he has
also crossed paths with renowned artists such as Damon Jee, Roe Deers, Amarcord and Joe Lewandowski on remixes.
Despite his obvious affinity with the dark disco scene, which is still very active today, the artist has chosen a completely different path for this "debut album", reconnecting with influences that are much more house, ambient and electro.
Metro Area, Dj Koze, Boards of Canada, Nina Kraviz, Anthony Rother, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Jimmy Edgar - the list of heroes could go on and on, but that's not the point. Avoiding the trap of the "dancefloor compilation", offering music that can be
heard everywhere but heard nowhere before, that is the "ambitious ambition" of this eight-track collection: music that "speaks", that speaks of love, that speaks of the night, music that dances, that dances as well as lives.
In today's fast-paced world, "Le début du beau" is an attempt to give us time, by offering us a signposted route, a 47-minute guided loop that asks questions - universal questions about our ability to get back on our feet, our ability to remain hopeful, questions about our ability to give love, to give love and to receive it.
"Le début du beau" is an object, an object to be listened to in its entirety, an object to be revisited several times to better understand it, to better apprehend it, a nostalgic object that pays tribute to those records that sometimes change our lives
through their singularity, their ability to resonate with a moment, an era in our lives.
