Oslo-based Boblebad aka Ulf Moen Denneche returns to Beatservice Records with his latest EP, Datamusikk. Having released a succession of standout singles, EPs, and albums across the past three years for the fellow Norwegian label, Boblebad serves up a cosmic whirlwind of polychromatic bliss with this latest four-track EP. Plotting a course through radiant funk, enchanting oddities, red light basement flavours, and cosmic disco it's a voyage of vibrance from the prolific multi-instrumentalist.

A true creative at heart, Boblebad is at home conveying ideas and emotion through the medium of visual art as he is crafting groove-laden sonic textures. Over the years his productions have found homes on respected dance music labels such as Badabing, Paper Recordings, and Full Pupp, with Beatservice becoming a favoured outlet for his genre-traversing creations.

Opening the EP, top-down cruising the solar highways, "Mermaid" layers sweeping synths with juiced-up basslines as young jazz singer Guro showcases a celestial debut of vocal prowess. Ethereal textures, dreamscape dynamics, this is the soundtrack to summer you never knew you needed.

Stomping through the dunes, the title track, "Datamusikk," follows. A squelched-up symphony of crunched gated snares, chugging bass, and desert rock guitar licks. Deep, powerful and alluring its grooves suck you in further with every second that passes.

Take to the flip for a dose of hypnotic, machine-melding stabs and Detroit-flavoured late-night feelings in the form of "You Got Me." A world of textural percussive hits and robot-infused Arps that deliver a commanding presence on the dancefloor.

Rounding off the EP, "Couchsurfer" exhibits Boblebad's future-facing, acid-tinged cosmic disco. Martian music with a human soul, modulating synth touches and a tantalising bassline floating out across the ether.

Four kinetic cuts that demonstrate the range and dynamism of Boblebad's productions for one of Norway's most consistent labels.

AEON is a label that’s really in a rich vein of form. Following on from the success of Jenia Tarsol’s recent ‘Strom’ EP, which found it’s way into a myriad of tastemakers boxes, they welcome French man of the moment, Darlyn Vlys for a stunning EP.
The title track Traca y Pólvora is a powerful, melodic masterpiece. A driving, dynamic groove underpins an irresistible bass line anointed with, vocodered vocal snippets and huge emotional pads for an almost trancelike euphoric journey. Serpentine is similarly exciting, but darker in it’s approach. A relentless bass line is main feature here, with a broken beat just adding to the drama and sinister vocals complete the vibe with devastating effect.
Remix duties are fulfilled by Cooper Saver, with his first outing on the label, and label stalwarts Speaking Minds and Amarcord. Cooper Saver has been in fine form of late. His recent release, 'The Search' on Permanent Vacation was huge and is still being hammered in the clubs. Here he takes on Traca y Pólvora with a stunning remix. A slightly lighter take on the original with an easy groove and a moving bass line that makes this the perfect end of the night track.  Meanwhile, Speaking Minds and Amarcord take on Serpentine for their ‘Club Tool Mix’. Their approach is a dark affair, with linear moody elements throughout which takes the track into peak time ‘strobe and smoke’ territory.
A powerful and impressive package throughout here and yet another stamp of quality from a fine label. File this under Big Room Moments!

Exclusive Rico Puestel 'Whether (Theus Mago Remix)'

Mexican artist Mateo Gonzalez alias Bufi alias Theus Mago is omnipresent; either with own releases under one of the aforementioned two aliases or works from his label Duro. His latest piece of music, a remix für Kiel-based artist Rico Puestel, now drops on Adana Twins' label TAU and marks its eight installment 'Chicanery EP'. Theus Mago took on duties for 'Whether' and turned Rico's original version into a craving piece that's based upon rhythmical elements adding a quick drive to the bass line and mental sounds for the top layer. So basically Theus Mago's approach comes up with a synergy of warm and organic sounding elements and darker industrial influenced ones.

Rico Puestel's EP 'Chicanery' will be released on TAU on September 27th, 2019.
