Bio

Out of sheer boredom, I went to the Love Parade in Berlin with two friends in 1998. From then on, I was hooked on electronic music. Before that, I only listened to metal and punk.
Initially, I only listened to trance, but that changed dramatically when I went to Aufschwung Ost in Kassel for the first time. That changed everything. From then on, things got progressively harder.
Chris Liebing, DJ Rush, Robert Natus, Torsten Kanzler, and Frank Kvitta were my heroes. Fridays were U60 in Frankfurt, and Saturdays were my weekend at Stammheim in Kassel.
I started DJing in 2001 with a friend who got used turntables and a 2-channel battle mixer.
However, I soon found myself behind the tables more often than he did. In 2002, I bought my own/better equipment.
Together with Spexx, An-Dreh (RIP), and a few others, we organized underground parties. It was always very intense...
From around 2012 to 2018, I stopped DJing altogether. Starting in 2018, I continued digitally.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Mike Mystic, an Austria-based Techno DJ, embarked on his musical journey in 1997, spinning vinyl at underground rave parties. At a time when the electronic music scene was thriving in the underground, Mike discovered his passion for techno at raves held in secret, unconventional locations. His energetic and driving sets quickly garnered him a loyal following, establishing him as a fixture in the local Austrian scene.

Early Success and Hiatus

Throughout his early career, Mike became known for his ability to captivate audiences with his music. His sets were renowned for their intense rhythm and their power to transport listeners into a dark, hypnotic world of sound. Despite his rising success, Mike decided to step away from the decks in 2002, taking a hiatus from the music world.

Return to Music

Nearly two decades later, amidst the global lockdowns of 2021, Mike Mystic reignited his love for techno. The tumultuous times and isolation led him to rediscover the power of music as a medium for connection and expression. This rekindling of his musical passion marked the beginning of a new era in his career as he worked diligently on his comeback.

Resurgence and Presence in the Techno Scene

Since his return, Mike Mystic has reestablished himself as a driving force in Vienna’s techno underground. His sets remain as intense and electrifying as in the early days of his career. Mike is known for his carefully curated track selection and intense sound design, which create a pulsating atmosphere that gets people truly moving on the dancefloor. Each of his performances is a journey—deep, driving, and impossible to ignore.

Current Career

Today, Mike Mystic is a regular behind the decks at legendary clubs such as Ponyhof, Innercircle Club, and Kramladen. With every performance, he brings the pure, pounding energy of techno to the stage, consistently thrilling audiences. His ability to weave stories through his sets and induce trance-like states in his listeners has earned him a legendary reputation in the scene.
