Flexing spaced out electro cuts, Canadian duo Minor Sine Project are back with their 5 track EP “Stitch in Time.” Tracks such as “Edge of Glory” and “A Stitch in Time” simulate expansive, acid dripped worlds with plenty of low end to shake the bass bins. “Stretched Thin” displays MSP’s penchant for creating sonic blends of modern breakbeat and 4x4 rhythms. Both energy and tempo are brought up another notch on “One for the Road” and “Warp Speed,” with each track further proving that Minor Sine Project will continue to twist and bend genres while always applying plenty of that signature groove to each work.

Comprised of Calgary scene staples AGE and Sandau, the Alberta contingent have been on the forefront of the leftfield house scene since their inception in 2019. With a penchant for deep and dubby minimalism, the duo have set off with crackling releases that dabble in the genres of their influence while becoming something entirely new and fresh at the same time. What transpires is a sound that can be described as minimal dub accentuated with a touch of acid, breaks, and old school rave sensibility. The result is something that is wholly their own sound and one that has sunk deep in the inertia of its listeners.

Minor Sine Project is and continues to be a love letter to the styles that both partners were bred on, while forging new ground and sonic territory in the process. They have broken through with releases on Misplaced Records, Urban Garden, Tip Tap and Too Rough 4 Radio to name a few. Keep your eyes on these two as they navigate through the sounds of past and present.

The LP showcases Minor Sine's versatile and varied distinction as artists with their expansive and engrossing sound never leaving front and centre. Here is the recording from our 2024 Bass Coast set at the Slow Tempo stage! Wade was unable to make it but I had such a good time crafting this set and kicking off the Saturday night at this stage. I prepped about 3 hours of material for this set so I might release a part 2 with the other half of my "slow tempo" vibe... we'll see ;)
