Thie week we have Scots born DJ & producer Andrew Moore, who is now based in Berlin. Andrew started off his music career as a camera man and editor for Glasgow based electronic music magazine eqtv.dj, where he filmed and interviewed the best DJs and club nights in Glasgow, as well as various artist from around the world. He then started his DJ career after moving to London and working in the city’s queer underground scene. Since moving to Berlin, Andrew’s career has gone from strength to strength after making waves across Eastern Europe and signing to and releasing on Ellen Allien’s infamous BPitch record label. We hope you enjoy this wild podcast that he has prepared for us!

In 2005, MonSanto walked into his very first electronic music event where Frank Lorber was performing. Right then and there, it clicked. MonSanto was inspired to learn how to DJ. He quickly immersed himself into the intimate underground music scene of his hometown in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Thirteen years later, MonSanto is building momentum on his artistic journey with having opened for renowned artists such as Danny Tenaglia and Christian Voldstad. Breaking into the Toronto and Montreal underground scene, MonSanto has performed at music festivals and events such as AIM Music Festival, Husa Sounds and many more. With musical influences such as Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Sasha and Steve Lawler, MonSanto’s deep infectious grooves permeate the dance floor. The energy exchange MonSanto passionately exudes while performing is unparalleled. Captivating the crowd is his superpower.

Production wise, MonSanto is inspired by the soundscapes which surround him, along with infinite creative downloads on the daily. His last EP ‘Padelia’ [Phantom Deck Records, 2020] is a dance floor romance, which reveals a delicious taste of what’s to come in 2022. MonSanto’s sound is exceptionally full of deep, sultry, melodic grooves. Stay tuned for new releases and international gigs on the horizon in 2022.

Emerging out of Montréal’s fertile underground scene, DJ and producer SIM is next to take to the stage for our Crack Mix series.

"For my Crack Mix debut, I wanted to represent what goes on in my head," explains SIM over email. "Stuck between a wonky synth line and a thundering sub-bass, I’m constantly picturing how molecules would dance."

Avenue Red welcomes a newcomer to the main podcast series... enter the very dedicated and focused DJ/artist Danijel Kevic from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country we didn't receive a single transmission from until now. Originally from the country's second city of Banja Luka, now based in the nearby city of Prijedor, Danijel is a key member of the Bosnian underground scene and has been collecting, producing and playing music for more than 10 years.

He has released his strongly Motor City & Windy City-influenced music on a host of fine labels such as Minuendo Recordings, Kolour Recordings, Tit Zero Recordings, Open Bar Music, Waxx Trax and Manuscript Recordings among others. Here Danijel has showcased his vibrant, deep, soulful brand of club & bar-friendly house music with a slickness, a professional touch in the name of tight flow and intricate mixing. This, we can confirm, is true house music.
