I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

Rest in peace, Frankie, may your music keep on moving people eternally

The Rainbow venue has been at the core of Birmingham's underground dance music scene since its inception in 2004. Delivering parties week in, week out, the venue has become a staple part of the the midland's nightlife. To celebrate a strong 10 years of the venue and the 9th birthday of the 'Below' parties, Rainbow's most popular DJ and long-term resident Adam Shelton has delivered a very special selection of courtyard classics. "This is a mix I have compiled for the forthcoming 9th birthday of Below on the 4th of May. As you can imagine in 9 years of parties there are a lot of tracks that have stood out to me; personal favourites as well as those that have made me focus heavily on certain labels that I wasn't aware of before.  However this selection is made up of ‘courtyard classics’; music that has set the vibe on the Rainbow courtyard, music that the residents have played with maximum results. Myself, Subb-an, Ross T and Despo are the residents I am speaking of. To try and get this selection into a continuous mix is not so easy so I like to think of it as a selection, a blend. So here’s to 9 years of Below! Here’s to 10 years of The Rainbow and all Lee Mcdonald’s magical thoughts and ideas! The Eighth Addition of the Vol 2. ABS Podcast series warmly welcomes Dutch-house specialist, Toman. With a super special mix on the horizon it features 100% of his own unreleased tracks and collaborations.

Now based in Amsterdam, he moved to the Dutch capital in early 2018 — and has barely had time to pause for breath since. A producer who boasts an impressively prolific streak, Toman started his musical journey at an early age by learning to play the drums. In recent times, His unique take on house and techno has led him to much-renowned outlets such as @we_r_house, @pivrecords, @cyclicrecords, and @blindvisionrecords. In terms of gigs for 2019, Toman is scheduled to play at the Easter Awakenings alongside some of the biggest names in the game, as well as @straf_werk Festival in the middle of August. 

Smoothly transitioning from minimal through to the deeper side of house, Toman’s diverse musical outlook is refreshingly hard to categorise and evident through his mix, where he boasts tracks scheduled for release later this year alongside some unsigned gems.

Hey guys, hope you will enjoy this live and no edited mix made here today at Real Tone Studio featuring the best Jovonn's music, maybe not the latest but without a doubt the best track that reminds back in the day…

I remember having 18 years old, hanging out at the legendary Rex club in Paris watching DJ Deep playing along with Jovonn late 90's. I was already a big fan of Jovonn’s sounds. DJ Deep was one of the only few to play this sound, and only few record stores were selling hard to find Jovonn’s music from Goldtone, Kult rds…

Hard to find wax was very exiting. That is what made me going to record stores all the way to Tokyo to buy some of the Jovonn's music…

Few yes laters in Paris, Jovonn and I made in an hour at home the vocal of the track  « Remember » released on Real Tone…

We are now very close to 2013 and I m so glad to invite one more time Jovonn at Rex club…

Time is passing - Music is timeless...
