J’ai reçu à l’anniversaire de mes 13 ans une mega Xbox 360 noire laquée accompagnée des jeux vidéo Soul Calibur IV et Soul Calibre V. Des 1vs1 qui s’inscrivaient dans des univers mêlant médiéval fantastique, mythologie gréco-romaine, Lolita 19e siècle, guerriers asiatiques et cyborgs monstrueux. Tout ce qu’il y a de plus cool. Les combats étaient épiques, les gros lourds se faisaient défoncer par des meufs aux longues jambes et aux énormes poitrines, tout moi. Dans ce inner child mix, j’essaye de retrouver les sonorités de ces scènes héroïques, les rythmes parfois urgents, les étincelles des fouets et des lames de haches. Au centre de la bataille, viennent se glisser quelques sons qui ont bercé le début de mon adolescence et d’autres, plus récents, qui m’auraient sûrement fait exploser.

About the work:
The album was completed about mid-December 2023. Initially, I worked on the themes of parallel worlds, spiritual worlds, order, the extraordinary, and the unreality. I intended to create a sound narrative on these themes. And I was thinking of various album titles and track names. I wanted to give the album title and track titles like an epic story. It was going to be a rather complex album title and track titles.
However, on January 1, 2024, there was a major earthquake on the Noto Peninsula in Japan. Kanazawa, located on the Noto Peninsula, was the city where I had spent my elementary and high school years.
This earthquake made me think that everyday life is much more important than grand stories. Everyday life is fleeting. Everyday life is impermanent. All of the songs on this album were created as part of a story, but I thought they could also be interpreted as fragments of everyday life. The result is a very simple album title and song titles. This is fine.
