A mixtape recorded in Audacity with Korg Electribe 2 and Korg Minilogue. Inspired by the Crap Art movement http://crapart.spacebar.org/aad/ and a monthly speed songwriting meetup. Every song I started in a five hour period was recorded and "finished" with light editing for time and some added reverb and part reversals in post. The album art was made with stable diffusion.

GO (mixtape)

The shore is my place of homecoming. Windstring is a short form experimental recomposition of Nyokabi Kariũki’s Equator song. In this piece, I layered vocals, synth, and a field recording from the beach in Mantoloking, NJ, near where I grew up. Windstring captures the exact moment when my classical guitar harmonised its own strings in the wind, without playing a note. Similar to blowing into the top of an empty bottle and hearing the sound reverberate. May the unexpected sounds bring us home.

255 Haven Avenue was the address where my grandmother, Anita, lived her early childhood. The entire block was demolished when the second level of the GW bridge was being built in the late 1920s. Haven Avenue was rebuilt but the address, 255, is no longer there.

Ruminations is the third album by Puscha, written entirely through the lockdown period in Narrm/Melbourne during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. As such, this release was written during a time of forced isolation, where the days themselves became a continuous, recurrent experience. Ruminations is a manifestation of persistent thought loops and mental obsessions, as a thematic follow up from Puscha’s last album, Echolalia.

The recognition of Puscha’s ruminative thought patterns coincides with the concept of cycles, which has been a central source of inspiration of Puscha’s work so far. Cycles can be found in everything - from the ocean’s undulations to a beating heart, from an electronic oscillation to the cycle of life and death. Puscha’s music explores this by seeing how far they can push looping melodic and rhythmic phrases using poly meter and dynamics on a micro level. These pieces were improvised recordings with few takes and even fewer edits, in an attempt to break ruminative cycles.
