To Your River

West Cork singer-songwriter Miranda McCarthy is excited to release her new 8-song album the dreams and the daring. The songs were recorded in the summer of 2019 by Brian Casey at Wavefield Studios and mixed and mastered during the strange lockdown days of 2020/21.

The album features Miranda McCarthy on vocals and acoustic guitar, co-producer Kenny Dread on additional guitars, Dave Warnes on mandolin, and vocal harmonies by Corina Thornton and Alyanya Massey. Also featured are Dolcie Ross-Keogh on violin, Claire Supervie on flute and Peter O’Sullivan on drums.

Miranda’s songs continue to be inspired by – as with her first album New Days – the beauty and wildness of West Cork, Ireland. They are both drawn from, and create, vivid images of the natural world – the sea, mountains, rocks and sky – and the elements of fire, wind, earth and air. Woven into these images are feelings, thoughts, dreams, stories and adventures. They are the stories and feelings of life’s journeys – passing through love, loss, sadness, hope, fear and joy.
