Our latest release is from one Tech House’s rising stars. The standard of labels he’s released on is already impressive (Soma, Toolroom, Suara, Viva, Knee Deep In Sound) and by the beginning of 2016 he will have added Saved, Truesoul and Hot Creations to that list. For a producer that has been producing since 2006 and running his own successful label – Material Series – since 2007, his time – it seems – is right now.

His debut release for Glasgow Underground (Losty/Freedom) – a collaboration with Raffa FL earlier this year – was a huge success and now he’s back on his own with two stand-out tracks.

“Burton” is a deep, brooding burner built on a monstrous Reese-style baseline and topped off with moody triple-time synths, detuned sweeps and some trippy arps; imagine Schatrax “Mispent Years” remixed by Nick Curly and you’re getting a good idea of what this is about.

If, however, you are looking for something a bit more immediate (and/or you played “House Record” to death) “Creator” is the one for you. We’re already hitting February in elrow Music HQ and as starting point, here it is the first of two references to spread the love around in Valentine’s month. ERM097 is brought to us by Italian duo Supernova (aka Emiliano Nencioni & Giacomo Godi), a three tracker short take named ‘City Lights EP’. Opening the EP we have ‘Rock The Disco (Original Mix)’, a track high in energy, very playful and with that carnivalesque vibe we all love from elrow latest releases. Following, we find ‘What What (Original Mix)’, that starts just where ‘Rock The Disco’ left it, with a perfectly recognizable tech-house progression, less energetic but with a great vibe of its own, making it a great selection for moody times on the dancefloor, putting the highlight on the sirens by the final section of the track. But the real banger here is ‘Get Hot (Original Mix)’, a track with a truly unique vibe since the beginning till the end, thanks to those horn sounds, strong percussion and subtle and tender vocal line in the background, with great attention to small details. No doubt it will make any crowd go mad within seconds. With this magnificent ERM097 we’re just three releases away from a big landmark in elrow Music, that will reach its 100th release quite soon. One could describe Mirco Caruso’s previous career with just three words: “haste makes waste”.  The club-musician with Italian roots’ approach to music is never contrived - nor does he care for exclusive hype or shallow bandwagoning. Mirco Caruso’s career is embossed by a gravitas that has consistently and continuously led him to the music that reflects his passion the most.
The steep rise that started with his first tech house release in 2014 - and was followed by broad international support and gigs around the world - suddenly came to a halt in 2020 when Covid hit.
Yet, against all odds, this marks the beginning of Caruso’s musical and artistic transition. After struggling with finding new inspiration and creativity amidst a world turned upside down, passion finally was reignited after visiting a concert that would inspire a profound change. A change that has ultimately resulted in his newly formed moniker «MICA» that represents an equally newly formed, inherently melodic and dreamy signature sound. One thing, though, remains unchanged: MICA’s impeccable flair for deeply touching productions and his incredible skill set in the studio. Surely, it won’t be long, until his music yet again finds its way back into the rotations of the biggest names in the industry.
