BLOOD SUGAR JAZZ MAGIK...

...ist der Name einer neuen Funk-Party in der Schaubude – ab September an jedem dritten Freitag im Monat. Gastgeber David Hanke alias Renegeades Of Jazz wird dort monatlich mit wechselnden Gast-DJ's seine Vision von Northern Jazz, Breakbeat Funk, Supersoul und Dirt-Disco präsentieren.

Mit seinem ersten Album “Hip To The Jive” und dem dazugehörigen Remix-Album “Hip To The Remix” hat David Hanke alias Renegades Of Jazz in den letzten Jahren für Furore in der Breakbeat Funk Szene gesorgt.
Sein organischer Sound, den der gebürtige Norddeutsche Produzent selbst als “Northern Jazz” bezeichnet, vereint Breakbeat- und Jazz-Elemente. Aber auch Funk und Soul finden immer wieder den Weg in seine Songs.
Seit 2011 kommen zahlreiche europäische Städte in den Genuss seiner energiegeladenen DJ-Sets und seit der Wiedereröffnung im Februar 2013 beschallt er auch als einer der Resident-DJ's den legendären Hamburger Mojo Club auf der Reeperbahn.
“Menschen, die zusammen Spaß auf der Tanzfläche haben und zu deiner Musik tanzen, das ist das Größte!” sagt er selber, über das Auflegen. 

“Blood Sugar Jazz Magik” lässt das Lebensgefühl des Funks in Kiel aufleben. Gäste können sich auf modernen Funk, Jazz & Soul gespickt mit Afrobeat, Latin, Samba oder Hip-Hop freuen. Einen aktuellen DJ-Mix des jeweiligen Gast-DJ's gibt es auf der Webseite und neben einem eigenen Drink, dem “Jazz Magik”, ist natürlich auch für den “Sugar” gesorgt. Man darf also gespannt sein.

This month marks the passing of the lauded rapper Notorious B.I.G. and to honor his legacy, New York resident DJ Finesse debuted a special tribute during DJ Premier's Sirius/XM show "Live From Headqcourterz" on March 8.

The mix showcases Biggie's a capellas paired with Premier-produced beats. While the original tribute was shorter for air-time, Finesse extends the tribute for hip-hop fans here with a special intro by Premier himself.

DJ Premier's "Live From Headqcourterz" airs every Friday night from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Sirius/XM Channel 44, Hip Hop Nation. DJ Finesse is a regular guest on the show, filling in for Premier as an on-air mixer.
