The duo consisting of two wildly unique individuals, with lusciously flowing locks, Bene and Marko.  Residents of much loved Renate, at their core lies the raw, untameable energy of the 90’s; lapped up first hand. These sentiments are then tempered with a myriad of musical knowledge and appreciation, that  pieces together vibrations from disco and balearic, to trance and electro; but it doesn’t stop there.  You'll be hearing much more from them this year with a stream of high quality releases on acclaimed labels, some of which they reveal below. Pletnev taste in music is quite eclectic. In 2017 & 2018 he did splendid afro & oriental flavored EPs for such imprints like Meda Fury, Bahnsteig23, Needs and Mehmet's & Majica’s Fleeting Wax. More atmospheric, dark and deep EPs went out via Le Temps Perdu, Biologic, Secretsundaze sublabel SZE & french experimental label KUMP.

Alex perfectly represents new lithuanian scene of electronic artists among names like Manfredas, Juoduomenė, V and many others. He residents in Vilnius mekka of nightlife - Opium club and became a part of “Opium of the People” compilation in 2018.

The Agharo Mix Series

Agharo is a language, book, philosophy and tarot deck created by collective member Jaco Perroud. Each month we invite a guest to pick a card at random and create a mix inspired by its meaning.

Our 11th submission comes from French artist and now Amsterdam resident @MargeeMusic.

The Card

Enemies represent the necessary opposites. They are the contrast giving light to the contraries. There is no good without evil or light without darkness. There is no war without opponents, without clashing forces. The enemies gives a reason to the spirit, move the will, incite the strive to go from one state to another. They are the obstacles, the teaching. 'Here my foes, wait for me, I shall come to you, I've been waiting.'

What was the thinking behind this mix?

Enemies have appeared in my life in different forms: in an obvious ways contradicting all my personal beliefs and values, or disguised, making it more difficult to identify them. In each case, recognising my enemies always gave me the opportunity and the necessity to take a step back. By doing so it helped me discover a little bit more of who I was (personally and musically) and emphasise on the most important things in my life, in order to distinguish myself from my enemies .

I have put together a selection of darker and mellow tracks in the beginning that, to me, illustrate this process: standing in front of an obstacle and grieving the fact that things are about to change. Then I wanted to express the joy and excitement of going from one state to another with more groovy notes and a more emotional end to express the realisation that if in the end, you give so much importance to your enemies, it’s because you also have a lot in common with them.

DJ, label manager, graphic designer and general dandy-about-town GK Machine aka Gordon Mackinnon has been pursuing his numerous artistic ventures for the better part of two and a half decades.

Currently operating Invisible Inc records since 2015, the label specialises in psychedelic oddities catering towards aficionados of something a little more cosmic. Whether the music be ambient, tropical disco, new wave industrial techno or space rock, that psychedelic edge is always there. 

GK Machine has himself been DJing in clubs, bars, illegal raves, boat parties and secluded beaches for more than half his life...each set different from the last. January 2019 marked his 25th anniversary of getting behind the decks. 

A diverse producer, GK Machine has released 12”s, EPs, albums and tracks for labels such as Hoga Nord, Sonic Cathedral, Huntleys & Palmers, Paradise Palms and of course his own Invisible Inc Recordings under numerous aliases including The Poncho Brothers, Immaculate Rivombo, Strange Culture, Legion Of Light, The Mamba, and Delta Girls plus collaboratively as the ethno-space-dub-gamelan project Komodo Kolektif.
