When Lockdown #6 in Melbourne prevented Lyn Yeowart attending our book group as planned, we decided to do the next best thing and ask her some of our questions about The Silent Listener on Zoom.  Questions and answers covered the topics of synesthaesia, forgiveness and more. Gabriel Bergmoser's latest publication is audio only – The Consequence is out now on Audible and shares characters and landscape with his 2020 release  The Hunted and the 2021 release The Inheritance. 

In this interview I speak to Gab about writing for audio and choosing the right voice. We also talk about what it feels like to resuscitate a manuscript that nobody wanted and turn it into something that his publisher has now accepted and even called 'brilliant'

Fem Belling Interview October 2021

On 30 January the Mansfield branch of the Rural Australians for Refugees will host a concert, to be performed by the Aequales Ensemble. Interview with Mike Robinson-Koss of Mountain Grey

In 2021, Kate Ceberano released SWEET INSPIRATION, the 28th album of her extraordinary music career.

The album, which Kate produced, features two new original songs ‘Hold On’ and the album’s title track ‘Sweet Inspiration’. Also featured are Kate’s special renditions of some of her favourite songs from the likes of Carole King, Leonard Cohen, Dolly Parton, Peter Allen, Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

Speaking about the album, Kate says “What should have been a very simple, loving collection of favourite songs, recorded (just because) with friends over a few winters days in Melbourne.... turned into an experience that will forever shape my future as an artist.”

Kate Ceberano, in short, is the voice of a generation. 28 albums. 13 Platinum. 8 Gold. 3 ARIA awards. 3 Countdown awards. Fronted the seminal band I’m Talking for the Australian Made tour alongside INXS, Barnesy & Divinyls, starred in Jesus Christ Superstar with Farnham, hosted her own hit TV show Kate & Friends, won Dancing With The Stars, the first woman inducted into the Australian Songwriters Association Hall of Fame. A genuine creative tour-de-force, Kate has pivoted as well anyone in 2021 and has emerged as a remarkably prolific and accomplished painter.

In May 2022 we spoke to Meg Albany about her book The Very Last List of Vivian Walker. I didn’t know about the book at first!  I came across Meg and her music while curating my weekly show on Mansfield Community Radio. On Bandcamp, Meg says “I am not sure if the book inspired the music or the music inspired the book. Either way, the soundtrack will deepen your dive into the beautifully dysfunctional life of Vivian Walker.”
