The London-based James Dexter teams up with Denney for a slick three tracker on Steve Bug’s Sublease Records. 

Dexter had been producing quality house and tech for over a decade now, and his past few releases have seen him turn out for Bondage, Gruuv, Cyclic or Inermu, while Denney already released on Crosstown Rebels, 2020 Vision, Poker Flat and Hot Creations. 

With Denney co-producing the EP, we are treated to three perfectly-realised slices of contemporary dancefloor science. 

Katsu is a prime time groover, building a vibe through a deceptive groove and well judged vocal samples. Next up is For You - a crisp, rolling track with deep percussion and recognisably sultry vo- cal. Last but not least is This Groove - perhaps the toughest cut on the release, a surefire deep bomb built around tasty breakbeat-style percs and some wobbly acid touches.

One year on since the first installment, the mighty Hot Creations turn up the heat as they get set to unleash ‘Hot Summer Jams 2’, featuring eight exclusive tracks from familiar faces and blossoming new talents. 

The first half of the v/a welcomes back some favourite artists with the first track coming from label head and main man himself Jamie Jones, hot off the heels of some far reaching releases as Hot Natured and solo anthems. He delivers the storming future anthem, ‘Danger Mouse’. Next up Suara boss Coyu delivers ‘The Cat’ featuring the stunning vocals of Cari Golden. On an old school tip, New Yorker MANIK hits us with ‘Freak Your House feat. MC Kew G’ followed by a dance ready track from Alexis Raphael, who had his first track signed to Hot Waves back in 2011.

Dynamic duo Leftwing & Kody make their first appearance on the label as they team up with Cera Alba to deliver the heavy duty ‘I Got One Way’. Newcomers David Glass & CDC, Sean Branton and Neil Parkes also make their debuts on the label with serious impact. Bubbling with groove and energy, each of the tracks hold superior dance floor magic, road tested worldwide by the Hot Creations crew this summer, they are essential ammunition.

Co-founded by Jamie Jones and Lee Foss, Hot Creations has been going from strength to strength since it’s creation in 2010, releasing a comprehensive catalogue of music from well known artists and breaking new talents who have gone on to be some of the biggest names in the industry today.

2015 has seen a wealth of new productions from Jamie Jones including a collaboration with Kate Simko and the London Electronic Orchestra on his new label Emerald City, followed by another huge hit from his band Hot Natured plus the release of ‘Siberian Express’, recently named Essential New Tune.

Ecuadorian Carloh’s passion for music began at an early age, learning the art of turntablism from his father and uncle, both of whom were DJs. Heavily influenced by the native instruments of his country and the folk music of the Andes Mountains, his knowledge of modern and traditional is reflected in the latest release on Hot Creations.

The EP opens up with title track Sound Pump. Alien-like noises float amongst the powerful, thudding drums before descending into a crescendo of hurried synths that are smashed into outer space by that classic jackin’ beat. This is swiftly followed by the dark and looming bassline of It’s Like Before, littered with twinkling, cosmic synths it’s work’s a treat!

Claiming he wants to “rescue the sound of classic house”, the talented producer has forged a musical style that strikes the perfect balance between old and new. Describing himself as a pioneer of the musical genre “Andes House”, Carloh has previously released records on Desolat, Baumsounds and I’m A House Gangster.

Resonance Records co-founder Max Chapman return to the imprint to drop his 'Moving' EP, whilst UK duo Late Replies join on remix duties.

With releases and remixes to date on the likes of Hot Creations, Sola, Relief, Elrow and Repopulate Mars, Max Chapman's rise as one of the genre's leading names has seen the UK DJ and producer go on to make notable appearances at some of the world's leading establishments and festivals, including DC-10, Amnesia and Hï (Ibiza), fabric (London) and Sound (Los Angeles) in the last year alone. Following on from the label's recent Beatport #1 'Start The Party' courtesy of fellow co-founder George Smeddles, here we see Chapman also step out on home turf in fine form to deliver his latest EP 'Moving', with rising UK duo Late Replies returning to the label following their 2017 collaboration 'Wassoulou'.

Title track 'Moving' opens the package as Chapman opts for a slick blend of rolling percussion arrangements, infectious vocal hooks and snaking sub bass, whilst 'Trust Me' keeps the focus on crisp organic percussion and hefty kicks to form a bubbling groove. Last up, Late Replies' remix of 'Trust Me' welcomes skipping hats and swirling synths to close the EP in style.
