One of my favorite quotes is ‘Words can only affect you to the degree in which you think they are true.’ Now, recently since I've been DJing more, I've been getting some messages saying you're not a real DJ or you're only getting these gigs because you have a lot of followers or you're the problem, you're what's wrong with the scene. And this used to affect me, but it absolutely does not affect me anymore because I know I am putting in the work. I am listening to every single Beatport release. I'm listening to every single promo that comes my way. I'm reaching out to my favorite up and coming producers to get my hands on unreleased music that nobody else has heard yet. When you put in the work, you stop worrying about the opinions of others and you focus more on your own progression. Sander Kleinenberg once told me that a great DJ listens to four thousand tracks and picks the best twelve he think the dancefloor will enjoy most. And that's all I'm focused on. I'm putting in the work. I know you guys are putting in the work too, and because of that, I think this week's mix is my best mix yet. And I really hope that you all enjoy it. I'm thrilled to share the recording of my opening set for Hernan Cattaneo this past Friday on June 13th. Hernan has been playing my music in his sets for some time now—the very first promo I ever sent him was a bootleg of 'The System' by Inertia. Since then, he's played several of my tracks numerous times across different parts of the world and on his radio show - Resident.

As a DJ, the art of opening up a room is very special to me. I always pour a lot of thought and passion into my opening sets, understanding that it's far more than just track selection. It's about genuinely connecting with the environment and the evolving energy of the crowd, without fatiguing people's ears.

In the past couple of years, Hernan has trusted me to warm up the decks before him. This set was especially significant for me because I was able to build the atmosphere deeper, increase the energy slightly and mellowing it down before handing the decks off to him to a crowd that was ready to dance.

Due to logistical reasons when the boat was docked, the music had to be turned down while the boat was embarking - recording split in two as a result

Brooklyn-based Mir Omar has emerged as one of New York's leading electronic artists, blending dreamy, emotional compositions with technical precision. Influenced by Trent Renor, Underworld, and Orbital, he crafts immersive soundscapes that captivate audiences.
Before gaining international recognition, Mir built his reputation in New York, performing as a supporting act for progressive house icons like Hernan Cattaneo, deadmau5, Guy J, and James Zabiela.
