The third and final volume of Freeride Millenium's forward-thinking IMPACT series arrives on February 25th. It is packed with left-of-centre electronic sounds from Rotciv, Chinaski, Matisa, Zombies in Miami and Nikkname.
The idea behind the Impact collection is to highlight the dance floor's importance as a place for creative thinking, sexual liberation and multicultural amplification. This was brought into sharp relief during lockdown when label boss Jorkes and Lisa Jäger had to cancel their HOT all-gender sauna parties in Vienna. It left them and their community with nowhere to go and gave rise to ‘Impact’, as well as discussions at the WAF Galerie that Lisa co-curates. Each volume has come in tandem with its own talk with subjects including 'clubs as places for freedom and emancipation.'
This final volume opens up with Rotciv. He is well known to heady crowds at places like Panorama Bar, Robert Johnson and the Cocktail D’Amore parties, and also runs the Mister Mistery label when he blends acid, techno, electro and disco. 'Dirty Coast' is a rugged and twisted dark disco stomper with flashes of synth, gurgling bass and trippy electronics. Stefan Haag aka Chinaski aka S-F-X is a sound and visual artist, a resident at Robert Johnson and a regular on the Frankfurt club's own imprint. His excellent 'Power, Flower, Violence and Shower' shoots for the stars with its cosmic synth rays, colourful disco arps and elastic bass ensuring you move every bone in your body. Born in Rome, now based in Florence, Matisa has long been attuned to the intersection of music and style and has shown it in her music on labels like Optimo Music, Biologic Records and Butter Sessions. Her 'Supernova' is a supersized track with big piano chords, techno drums and chopped-up vocals all bringing the party. Mexico's Zombies In Miami are label regulars and live artists with a dark and alluring club sound. With 'One More Time' they take the dance floor on a widescreen trip to the cosmos with rugged basslines, chattery claps uplifting old-school chords. Last of all comes another friend of the label in Vienna-based Greek artist Nikkname who alongside label boss Jorkes has released on Curses’ Ombra INTL label. His nine-minute futuristic masterclass 'Seeing Morphs' layers up serene chords and smooth grooves that are ripe for introspection as well as heads-down dancing. 
This fantastic final instalment completes the vital Impact series in style and once again comes with artwork from Daniel Rajcsany.

Oslo label badabing diskos kicks off with a massive dance floor treat from legendary Norwegian producer diskJokke.

Known since 2008 for his international escapades with Prins Thomas's Full Pupp and the Smalltown Supersounds label, diskJokke has also played everywhere from Panoramabar Berlin to Space Ibiza and Liquid Room Tokyo. He has put out three superb long players, remixed indie acts such as Metronomy and The XX and now, after acquiring his Masters in Mathematics, he is back. He has a complex, weird and wonderful take on melodic and cinematic sounds, as proven by this terrific two-tracker.

Opener 'A Little TnT' wastes no time in locking you in on a wave of retro-future synth work while a squelchy bassline twists and turns below. It's an expansive and widescreen sound packed with the sort of melody that makes Scandi-disco so appealing.

The fantastic '90s' then takes you on a magical trip to the edge of the cosmos, with enchanting synth lines and buoyant drums all building to a crescendo. The mood then flips to acid-tinged disco house with warped lines and late-night menace, making for a truly adventurous track.

This is a terrific first EP from what is sure to be an essential new label.

This insightful poem written by Paul Watt opens the premiere of the intriguing contribution Zillas On Acid provided to this remarkable release: “Shelter Me – The Album”, coming soon on Paisley Dark, brought together twenty tracks made with love by twenty wonderful acts such as Steady State, Duncan Gray (SXDNS075), From Beyond, MAN2.0 (SXDNS081), Ivan De La Rouch & Rams, Silicodisco, besides the Zillas themselves, just to name a few, in order to raise funds to support the work made by The Shelter UK (https://www.shelter.org.uk/). 

The track we chose to premiere presents itself giving the impression it is a peak time 132-BPM banger, and it keeps hiding its true self until it reaches 02.45 minutes, that’s when you realize its actual pace: “Island Avenue” is a 106 BPM acid downtempo beauty devoted to making us not only dance but also reflect about housing justice and homelessness, issues that afflict millions of people around the world.
