Recorded & processed at the onset of lockdown in spring 2020, the themes of forward momentum and pleasure in our inner worlds remain as relevant as ever, and pose many eternally essential questions - Where is there space for joy in our lives? How is it manifested? How do we share & impart joy into the lives of those around us?

Throughout these 33 minutes of ecstasy under duress, Liquid Asset does not attempt to answer these questions for you, so much as helping to illuminate the infinite paths that exist in answering them for yourself.

"I had always wondered if I would be given the opportunity to play a live set at mass and when I did, I knew I had to get goofy. My sound is raw and can be challenging in a club space but ever since I started performing 10 years ago, I dreamed of playing in a place like mass. I didn’t know what to expect and how it would be received but everyone was so ready to get weird and let loose. The set consists of all original music played and performed in real time, so there are inconsistencies and human mistakes which I believe makes my sound relatable.

I make all my tracks and sets in Ableton Live 8 and perform on an Akai MPD32 (that I’ve had since 2013). It’s nothing fancy at all but these tools have opened up so many doors and made exploration in sound possible. When I’m asked to describe my sound, the best label I can think of is experimental dance music. When I’m producing I love to compose in strange and complicated rhythms and find a way to make it danceable. Sampling has always been a huge inspiration in my music and I always experiment with making odd sounds into melodies or percussion. I hope you will find joy and excitement in this recording and by the end of it, you will TRULY know what kind of music I’m listening to all the time! ;)"  @w00dycat
