The unique club is my all time favourite venue with its fantastic mixture of sixties and funk flavoured grooves. The "Unique" musicstyle is representing best, what dancemusic is to me and what kind of music immediately touches my heart and feet. I had the idea of making a tribute mix, when i first heard the track "Afro Cookie" by Renegades of jazz. A powerful and super funky Afrojazz tune, which directly timewarped me to the 90s on the little packed unique dancefloor, with its lights shining under my the dancing feet and the warm bass powering through my shaking (hip teen ;-) body. For the mix, I put together some classic Unique tracks that I remember playing a lot with newer tracks that I think would have played there. The Unique was located in the old town of düsseldorf in a former animate bar. the walls were covered with 70s plastic fabric, which is normally used for sofas. so the acoustic was very special and the sound was a bit mono - retro and that was absolutley perfect for the musicstyle. People were dancing everywhere in the club. on the way to the bar on the way to the toilet, inside the sofa separees or while waiting at the bar. it was all about dancing and music. Founder and mastermind of unique was Henry Storch, who brought with his crew lots of music and artists from uk, such as Andy Smith (Portishead) Eddie Piller (Acid jazz records) and organized concerts with turntable jazz, erobique, the mobylettes (and so much more!). his project the frank popp ensemble, had a radio hit in 2003 with "hip teens don`t wear blue jeans.", which some of you may know. The Club had to close in 2005 and Henry Storch has died too young in 2018. I hope to meet him once in Freakbeat - sixties soul heaven to thank him for the musical treasure he brought into my life. But the Unique Record Label is still existing and you can still discover great artists and music and there!!

Markus Schneider y Stefan Maurer son dos aficionados a la música detrás del dúo DJ alemán «The Robot Scientists«, fundado en 2007 cuando el renacimiento de Disco comenzó a despegar.

En aquel entonces, estos dos «Super-Selectores» saltaron a la luz por sorpresa en MySpace con mezclas en vinilo de los siniestros futuristas y melancólicos tracks rescatados de lo mas profundo de los 70 y 80 Synth-Disco y Synth-Disco.

Desde 2011, dirigen «Emerald & Doreen Records», una de los sellos digitales más interesantes en el campo del Dark Disco, trance Synthwave, Progressive House e Indie Dance, sin duda ocupan un lugar  entre Nein Records, Correspondant o Running Back.

En 2014, comenzaron la serie de mezclas de DJ «Something Spæcial«, un programa de podcast muy aclamado, que promueve el estilo más continental del sonido Leftfield específico del Reino Unido,  tomando como referencia la noche del club «A Love From Outer Space» de Sean Johnston y el difunto Andrew Weatherall.

Como DJs han tocado en Barcelona, ​​Berlín y Beirut, entre otros, y son conocidos en todo el mundo por sus mezclas de fiesta eclécticas, energéticas y siempre divertidas que consisten en canciones de Psychedelic House y Dark Disco y ediciones de los 80 que aman.

Ellos son como los Blues Brothers, siempre tienen una misión: llevar la mejor música electrónica de baile al mundo.

Para DJ Mag Spain, combinan 25 tracks de sus favoritos recientes en un viaje mágico para los grandes días de verano, sin ninguna restricción.

My musical influences lie in the big beaty 90s, dancing to Acid Jazz, 60s and Northern Soul (my top favourite style!!!!), funky Breaks and French house. In the early 2000s in Berlin I discovered soul and funk in electronic dance music. At a legendary b2b set with ZIP (Perlon) and Matthew Herbert in CDV "Club der Visionäre". I love funky fluffy minimal house! As a DJ, I like to play multigenre and all styles. I also love odd things like the Hammond organ cover by Klaus Wunderlich (here I digitized "Uraltedelschnulzen") or MoogCookbook and last but not least the Jazz- Comedy universe of Helge Schneider.:)!
