The Captain is an Italian producer & DJ widely known in the Funky Breaks and Ghetto Funk scene who takes his fans on a musical journey by turning all-time classics hits into contemporary dancefloor dynamite.  Many of his productions have been praised and supported by Krafty Kuts, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Freddy Fresh, Ursula 1000, Fort Knox Five, Skeewiff, Featurecast, Stickybuds, Slynk and Smoove, to name a few.  

The Captain has created a unique signature sound taking inspiration from the golden decades of classic rhythm and blues, soul, latin, hip-hop, and rock-n-roll and mixing it with modern dance music and beats.  The distinct and diverse groove he creates in his productions attracts fans from different musical genres and styles.  

His highly praised output of vinyl and digital releases on labels such as Resense, Goodgroove, ESL, BBP, and Ghetto Funk have been consistently topping the Juno Charts the last several years.  This fast growing success and well earned reputation led him to remix great artists such as Ursula 1000 and musical icon Fred Schneider from the legendary rock band, the B-52s.

The Captain’s following has widen through extensive exposure through national and international radio airplay and interviews (BBC, WDR, RAI, Triple J) and television appearances.    
Among his upcoming projects is a remix collaboration with Dub Pistols & Alabama 3.

Unique Records is a label focused on the development of quality songs and songwriters in (mainly but not exclusively) Funk, Soul & dance, Electronic music of any existing kinds.
We are specialized in artists & bands who dedicate themselves to both a strong dancefloor action & club attitude and audience perception. Unique Records was founded by DJ Henry Storch in 1988 as a home for by that time more than 15 years ago - Garage, Thrash, Beat, independent hammond bands. Between 1988 and 1993 Henry Storch put out as many as twenty 45s-singles and one album of the almost legendary Prime Movers Sins Of The Forefathers. Other acts on the label by that time included Thee Milkshakes, The Tommyknockers, The Embryonics, Heartbeats, Wylde Mammoths and others. Unique Records took a timeout as Henry Storch set up his own Unique Club venue in 1995 in Düsseldorf. The Unique Club has gained an international reputation as one of europes top leftfield dance / club venues with a similar credibility such as the Mojo Club, Into Something and the Jazz Cafe as well as the former UK Blue Note. In 2005, the Unique Club celebrated the 10th anniversary. In 2006 the club was closed.
Unique Records then was re-established in 1998 with new partner Tino Stoschek, a former music journalist and musician ever since. Since then Unique Records musically strongly focuses on any genre outside house or techno: Jazz, (Nothern) Soul, Funk, Rare Groove, Latin, Urban / HipHop, DrumnBass, Leftfield Dance and especially heavy Breakbeats of all kind!
The Unique Label still exists and had it's 20th anniversary in 2008!
In 2013, Unique turned 25!!! A quarter century folks!

Also in 2013 and in cooperation with SCHUBERT MUSIC Publishing Unique Records established its own publishing company. Meanwhile Unique Musikverlag GmbH is happy to announce that the legendary Haldern Pop Recordings decided to start an edition and so is part of the publishing family as well.
