Parquet Mixtape 21 by The Second Sense

Marco Thull and Philippe Bessel-Lorck aka The Second Sense are a Producer and Dj-Duo from Cologne, Germany. They have fallen in love with deep and melodic sounds and the Moog Synthesizer. On stage they prefer playing live with hardware. Each of them has a long history in electronic music producing and as live acts. They already released on  labels like Ostwind-Records and Datapunk and had their first release on Parquet Recordings "Scales" in August 2017. A couple weeks ago The Second Sense had their second release with us "Gate", which was a cooperation with the uprising duo Supacooks. 3 QUESTIONS to TALUL:

Q: You´re a libanesian guy, born and raised in East Germany. Do you still have some roots in LB, maybe some musicial ones? 

A: Yes, my father is Lebanese and I love the country. I still have many family members in Lebanon but I don’t know any musicians. However, Arabic music had an impact on my doings and will always influence my work.

Q: As a big Edu Imbernon fan you´re now releasing a remix on his imprint Eklektisch. Guess a dream came true?

A: Yes definitely, a dream came true! It was a milestone for me in my recent music career. The remix I’ve made was for Danito & Athina and has already been released. 

Q: Which future projects are on the way?

A: I’m working on my next EP, but still looking for a label. There will be two remixes coming out in the beginning of 2018. I try to stay focused on getting more gigs in the near future and I’m exited for everything that’s coming up.

Talul - HOW I MET THE BASS #91

Dear Friends of Electronic Music, I'm quite busy with recording and uploading my live-mixes, but I'm really happy about every gig the last months :) And on top I allways played fresh music, no tracks that you will find in my older mixes. This Time I played warm up at Dreamwave Festival  directly before Worakls in my favorite Club in Town: Postgarage.  I started at 01:00 when the club just begann to get packed, so there was a really good atmosphere from the start till the finish. I tried to push it not to hard and was playing out my favorite Afro-House Tunes in the moment. But I got the feeling that the dancers like it a little bit more progressive and it ended in some Techno :) I hope you have fun while listening to the mix, I really enjoyed it while playing. Noch schnell den letzten Schluck die Kehle herunter spülen. Die Kopfhörer und noch ein Bier für den Weg geschnappt. Kurzen die Hosentaschen überprüft, Tür ran ziehen und los. Im Treppenhaus nur nicht stolpern, wäre schade um den guten Hopfen Tropfen. Auf geht’s hinaus in die befreiende Dunkelheit. Keine Gedanken mehr an gestern oder morgen verschwenden. Ein Leben im Hier und Jetzt, ein Leben für den Schall und den Rauch. Die Straßen und Clubs mein eigentliches Zuhause und die Musik meine Lebensader. Also Kopfhörer auf und Serotonin-Spiegel rauf. Auf dem Weg zum Exzess schon mal fallen lassen damit der Einstieg in die Parallelwelt reibungslos funktioniert. In der Straßenbahn nochmal ein Blick auf den Flyer für heute Abend. Wunderbar Maurice Mino aus Berlin ist ebenfalls zu Besuch. Kicks und Grooves im betörenden Wechsel, seine letzten Sets aus dem Watergate und der Hammahalle waren sehr schweißtreibende Angelegenheiten. Da sollte man sich dringend den aktuellen Podcast gönnen. Es wird langsam schwarz vor meinen Augen und die Musik durchströmt meinen Kopf. Was um mich herum geschieht nehme ich nicht mehr wahr. Minuten verrinnen in Sekunden und mein Geist befindet sich auf einer anderen Bewusstseinsebene. Bis eine kleine Erschütterung meinen neuen Kosmos zusammenfallen lässt, wie die Stadt am Ende von Inception. Ein weiteres Finger tippen auf meiner Schulter reißt mich endgültig aus meiner Traumwelt. Vor mir steht einer dieser nervigen ComRa Promoter.

Chillout Series #1 - Mixed by Pedz [Rodriguez Jr. / Miyagi / Ben C / Musumeci / Boxer / Clawz SG]

Whoever has been exploring the nightlife in the town of Graz and whoever has a taste for high-quality electronic music will certainly have come across one name in recent years: Thomas Tschermonegg a.k.a. Mischkonsum. Unconditional love and affection towards dance music is what made this DiscJockey and producer a force to be reckoned with in the local scene. Having performed at Dom im Berg events and numerous gigs at Postgarage and Niesenberger, Thomas understood how to rock the crowd with his multi-facetted sound-repertoire and did so with Ben Klock, Mind Against, Kölsch and Chris Liebig among others. Therefore, being invited to show his talents in Vienna (at Grelle Forelle, Flex) and Berlin (at Tresor) was not long in coming. Weather deep, melodically playful or truly forceful, Thomas' sets represent the entire spectrum of sophisticated electronic music. This is what he lives for and this is what you hear. An undeniable instinct for the crowd's needs and the tools to satisfy these needs make him achieve his only goal; to let the dancefloor go aflame. Soon to be in a club near you.
