Hailing from South California and now based in the vibrant city of London, MADVILLA has meticulously crafted a unique blend of deep house vibes over the last couple of years. His productions are infused with funky and joyful rhythms, spreading stretched-out that make us breathe some lovely beachside scenarios from his hometown; all this, obviously, without forgetting UK-ish grooves and energetic basslines. Over the last couple of years, MADVILLA has seen his music get released on top-notch labels including Locus, NO ART, and Knee Deep In Sound, not to mention his recently opened brand "Hot Wings", keeping our hopes up and our expectations high for his future.

I could type on for hours about the respect and admiration that is shared between myself and Caspa. We've grown as friends, and as individuals and through our entire relationship, there was always a general theme that kept showing up in our chats. It was genuine belief in the other party. Having someone in your corner who believes in you is invaluable, and that's why he and I have latched on so tightly to our friendship. 

But enough gushy stuff (lol) lets highlight this freak of a DJ real quick. DJ Caspa is one of the most highly respected Underground DJs. Full Stop. The guys a freakin legend, but that title didn't come easy, and it definitely wasn't bought through an algorithm. Since the late 80's early 90's, Caspa has been a cornerstone for the house community. His respect in the scene was earned from constant support of other artists (big inspiration for me!) and always pushing the new guys who deserved the recognition. Without Caspa, there would have never been a Selected Timbres series, and I'm not even sure I would be so heavily involved in the scene. So if you've ever received my support, you can give him a thank you too lol.

This mix has been in the works for over a year. We both knew there was going to be a guest mix from Caspa, but (as always) he wanted me to start this up on my own with my own guests that I've got in my back pocket. BUT.. here we are :) one year later and DJ Caspa is lucky number 13 in the series!

Undoubtably our most established artist we have had the pleasure to host on our REC Series, head honcho of Ultra Knites who has seen releases on the highest renowned labels all over Europe, we present Mike Sharon for our 22nd REC Series instalment. Mike has had successful releases on Floor Piece, FARMAT, Pitch Records, and numerous releases on PIV.

Possessing a well established sound, Mike's soulful and energetic taste in house music is both deep and synth-y. Expect nothing less in this mix, as he takes you through his flavour which he has crafted over the past years.
