This song was written for the album "Cast No Shadows" and recorded during those sessions. We'd played it live quite a few times and had full intention of keeping it on the LP, but for some reason we all just weren't feeling it at the time. It had a different ending for it live, but when we recorded it, this end certainly fit best.

Aportal is a dark song, about being sucked into a hole (portal) down to the deep, dark pits of your psyche. Where you feel you can go no lower, but are still fighting. It's possibly the darkest lyrics i'd ever written at that point in time. It was hardly mixed so sounds very raw...even a little bit out of time (piano bit), and was also not mastered so is very quiet compared to everything else. But it certainly is a song and could have been huge...i think anyway. I used to love this song...i hope you get a kick out of it.

Aportal

Another track from the "Cast No Shadows" sessions. This was also played live many times before. Written well before the release of the album, this really had the typical Misdirection sound of blending different styles into one song, taking you on a journey all the way to the very end. The main riff was something Cass used to bring out a lot in the jam room and over time naturally matured into a fully fledged song...which became quite the favourite with a lot of friends and fans. Plenty of fun in a live set! Also very raw and not mastered, it's quiet in volume but is still a very full sound. Be sure to turn it up and let it take you.

This is unreleased material, never before heard from anyone outside the band, other then the live performances. We only just got our hands back on these tracks and thought, they just had to be shared. We hope you enjoy the last taste of Misdirection
