Weirdly enough, the locals loved it, and we were constantly hearing people call out for it when we played out.

I will tell you a secret.
Mike would scribble his lyrics in a composition book, and he got the title for this not from astral projections (as you might think), but from the name brand on the notebook he was then working in. (Google it, they're a recognized solid brand name in notebooks!)

This is Mike Mathis singing; and probably the easiest and most simplistic guitar solo ever written in the history of mankind.

This became one of our signature songs; and it is the final song at pretty much ALL of our current shows.
This song was played way back when on WHFS 99.1 that was, on their Local Lunch.
It's a song I wrote about the end of the world; and how, for some, that might not be so much cataclysmic as it may be beautiful.
In the solo section, you hear me quoting a biography of Truman Capote (which I actually swiped from the Library); and playing a pawn-shop banjo very poorly. We also have a video for this up on YouTube -

This is a hauntingly epic song from the pen of Mike Mathis, who also sings here.
We still play this song out live these days - I sing it in honor of our brother and founding member.
