I wrote History as a collection of stories I have from many women I know and their relationships with men in their lives. I wanted to tell a story about generational trauma and the pain so many women I know go through in love trying to fill the spaces And sometimes ending up somewhere even darker. I wanted it to feel like a old folk song. One to take you on a ride and really submerge you into the world of this character- Sarah. And even though the songs story is sad, i didn’t want it to feel sad. I wanted it to still feel hopeful; there is always hope, even when it seems the darkest.

Grey Matter was made in the wake of the Freddy Gray uprising and numerous other acts of violence plaguing  this world. You will hear me cry, mumble and at times wrongly hit notes. I wouldn't have it any other way. As an artist it is important to show our imperfections. Art lives; Life is imperfect, ever-changing.

So I present to you the ever growing entity; myself.
