This song is the first of 8 on the album Distraught Thoughts, and takes place shortly after a battle, with one knight critically wounded. The piece starts out with a strong brass section, with a flute playing the melody. The strong brass (Trumpets Trombones) represents his fellow soldiers, while the flute is the man, slowly going into the light. The french horns come in playing the role of death, with more of a sweet, less harsh sound, trying to coax him into going into the light, telling him how much easier things will be just giving up. The ending part, with both brass bands and flutes playing, is the two forces fighting, knights and death, until the cymbal roll, symbolizing the decision made by the man. The voices slowly fade, as he transcends to the world of the dead.
