Lulu Rouge's "The Sound Is The Drum" is probably be one of the finest if not *the* finest albums of 2013 with both tracks featuring Fanney Osk on vocals being my favourite, and it's hard to improve upon something you like this much. And yet, adding a little bit of that Elite Force magic (plus the usual tweaking here and there by yours truly) certainly pushes (ha!) the original track in a completely new direction while retaining its original awesomeness.

I was especially happy with how the bass line of the first and the kick drum of the latter perfectly fitted with each other.

We’re back with the boys from Latvia for our 73rd iBreaks release.  Under This give us a double A-side showing two different sides of their production stylings.

“Let Yourself Go” leads the way, and there’s no messing about - it’s straight in with a big rolling breakbeat, a throbbing low end bassline, and a pulsing, growling, metallic synth that really sets the tone of what to expect.  A switch up in the bassline after the halfway point raises the energy and makes this one pure peak time.

In stark contrast, the Under This boys flex their deeper, groovier muscles on “Attraction” which is built around a Nile Rodgers flavoured guitar riff over speaker busting beats and bass.  The addition of a female vocal lifts the vibe, rounding off this disco breaks tune to a tee.

MISS MANTS - the 1st breaks/bass lady of Estonia. Nominee as the best producer at the International Breaks Awards (IBA) 2017 in Spain and in UK as a breakthrough producer in 2015. Heading from the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, Maria (aka Miss Mants) has started her musical background at a quite early stage. Studying classical music at the Tallinn Music School, playing the piano for 12 years and her family's music background both ensured her path in music in the future. Starting on the radio in her hometown also allowed her to try herself out behind the decks and it did not take too long until she started writing her own tunes in collaboration with the local breaks fanatics. She's been heavily influenced by the sound of the early 2000s drum and bass and of course later on it led to the love of breaks music. She lived in many cities around the world where she could expand her musical spectrum helped her to incorporate lots of different elements to her own style. From the hip-hop influenced New York or Florida, Hungary and finally the core of breaks music London. She is ready to bring some of the nicest, fattest breaks to the anyway heavily house music influenced mid-tempo culture.
