I put together something a little different tonight. Another genre I am really passionate about is "progressive techno." I have no idea if there even is such a genre, but that's how it sounds to me. And midway it almost becomes "hard progressive techno"! Either way, I absolutely love this genre, whatever it is. I'd love some feedback too. It hovers around 132 bpm.  Enjoy!

I played this set on Friday night at 9 pm - 11 pm at Esoteric 2022. This is admittedly a re-recording of the set as the actual recording, unfortunately, came out muffled, however, the set is the same.

Miss Mel - Relentless 10

Miss Mel is a talented DJ who has perfected her craft with over 26 years of experience in the industry. She began her career as a commercial DJ in 1995, performing at suburban clubs before moving to the city, where she secured guest spots and residencies at some of the most prestigious clubs in Melbourne, including Bubble, Dome, Chasers, Samsara, Evolution, Hard Kandy, Viper, Sinergy, and Altitude.

Miss Mel is particularly renowned for her expertise in uplifting trance, hard trance, and hardstyle, and is considered a rare breed of DJ who mastered her craft on turntables. Her longest residencies were at Altitude in Melbourne and Viper Room, where she played uplifting trance to a packed-out club every Saturday night, alongside John Askew and other notable artists. She also represented 5am at Altitude in Sydney, where she gained recognition in the Sydney trance scene.

Miss Mel's mixing skills are tight and precise, and her ability to keep the energy flowing and take the crowd on a journey of high intensity from start to finish makes her a standout artist. Her mixing style, which she describes as "Relentless," is particularly noteworthy, as it ensures that the energy remains high throughout her sets. She has also mixed the Altitude Volume 1 compilation, which is still considered legendary in the trance scene.

Despite taking a break from the music scene to start a family, Miss Mel has returned with a fresh new outlook and a commitment to continue making her mark on Melbourne's music scene. Now a beloved resident at Viper where she has become legendary for her closing sets, has further cemented her reputation as one of Melbourne's top hard trance DJs. Her dedication, professionalism, and expertise make her a highly respected figure in the industry.
