The intro is layered with a recording of children in the UK, in the year 1966, predicting the "future". It's slightly haunting and pretty beautiful at the same time.

FLY AWAY IV

As everything around us started to compound and I headed out to the protests in Seattle, my musical brain was immediately inspired and moved by the sounds of the crowd and everything around me. Tears rolled down my face as I raised my hands up into the sky and  started screaming with the crowd, “hands up - don’t shoot!” It has been surreal to process the violence and raised tensions on top of this pandemic. It’s hard to process how this has been an issue of our country for decades. It’s sad to see the divide and hate spewing out from those around us colliding on what they believe to be right. This issue keeps surfacing as we face more recorded and documented police brutality but we haven’t really moved the needle fast enough as the issues we face are much deeper than that. 
Facism and racism are REAL! It’s thick and our perspective needs to shift as this issue is deep seeded and needs to change. 
When I got home I started doing more research on what I could do musically to bring these issues to light and express myself through music. Through my research, I was turned on to a speech by Angela Davis at UCLA in 1972. Where she was fired, just two years prior, with backing from Ronald Reagan, for being a part of the Communist Party. The government would do anything to try and quiet her voice as she spoke out against them. She was bringing to light the facts and current issues plaguing this country with violence and racism. She is educated and speaks with such assertiveness that she was considered to be a terrorist by our own country. I was absolutely floored when I heard this speech. The words she expresses are still SO relevant and moved me deeply. I am amazed by her courage, determination and poise during her lifetime. I admire her for being so brave to take on what felt like the whole country to ensure her community had a loud voice!

Originally from the deserts of Wyoming, Miss Min.D has found her home in the Seattle music scene in 2004.
Co-founding of production companies such as Skunky Beats, DJ4NORML and most recently Fraktured, in the greater Seattle area, Miss Min.D has over 19 years of throwing shows and jamming beats! She has ranged from UK Hard House, Electro House, Disco swing house, Booty Breaks and most recently Liquid Drum and Bass. 
Playing with many names such as DJ Dan, Krafty Kuts, Left/Right and Donald Glaude she has held several residencies at local hot spots around Seattle such as Last Supper Club, Club Contour and Noc Noc. 

Her current residencies are with Fraktured at The High Dive and Back of the House at Still Liquor. 
 Her style and energy behind the decks is a force to be reckoned with and will never disappoint! With great track selection and energy through the roof, she hopes to make that booty clap and you drop it down low on the dance floor!
