Expect disco, glamrock, electro and house with a healthy dose of humour...Bunty Rocks the House in 2012, a year for a new beginning!

Bunty is ready for a year full of fun, a new album and playing with her band. The sky is the limit for this ‘Lovechild of Sylvester and Janis Joplin’, or at least according to Joost van Bellen.

On Bunty’s new album ‘Reanimated!’ Marielle Dijkhuizen lets us hear more of herself through the songs she has written in collaboration with the illustrious duo Dos Palomas Negras, Sander Stenger (Star Studded Studio's), Robbie Taylor, DJ Marcella and Roland Klinkenberg.

She can’t wait to air the new material on festival stages and clubs, backed up by her band who all share a life is fun, tongue in cheek, don’t take yourself too seriously attitude.

She dips into a range of genres to make her own flamboyant, colourful mix.

Take ‘Fire” as an example; Giorgio Moroder, Amy Steward and Cerrone in the mix. An obvious ode to Disco, Buntys’ first musical love. Then we have ‘Get In Line’ an Electro-Glamrock track with a howling vocal from La Bunty.

‘Peace Of Mind’ written with Roland Klinkenberg, is an atmospheric Drum n Bass track, while ‘Can't Stand It’ created with the talented DJ Marcella is a strong anti-love song wrapped up in tight Disco House beats.

“My Man“ is a cover of the Eartha Kitt song,the disco and jazz diva who is greatly admired by Bunty. We even get a track from Ian Dury and the Blockheads thrown in, Bunty delivers an energetic mash up of the classic “Hit Me”

Bunty started her early musical career as a vocalist with different Punk, Rock, Soul and Funk bands.

One of her first shows as freestlye vocalist and MC was in the legendary RoXy club in Amsterdam.

From there she literally went global, performing in over 25 countries with the likes of :

Dj Rush, Kerri Chandler, Fedde le Grand, Larry Tee, David Guetta, Deep Dish, Miss Monica (Stereo Diva’s), Ryan Marciano & Sunnary James and many more.

She is a much sought after vocalist, lending her voice and song-writing abilities to Project 2000, Bonobo, Aphrodite, Gregor Salto, Adani & Wolf, Eddie Amador, Ian Carey, Sunloverz, Housetrap, Fedde le Grand, Stonebridge and Sander Kleinenberg.

Bunty has released hits on respected dance labels such as : Hed Kandi, Defected , Ultra, Nervous Records and The Ministry of Sounds.

Her first musical experience was listening to Donna Summer, she was sold immediately!

Buntys other musical loves include Koko Taylor, Chaka Khan, Millie Jackson, Betty Davis and Basement Jaxx. These artists reflect her love of powerful voices. Speaking of which, you can hear Buntys own powerful voice on KX Radio.
