Arising his senses from the bowels of Portugal, Deepneue grew roots in Berlin. 
Queer and non-conformist by nature and having run the gamut of Berlin’s club scene as a DJ, Deepneue co-founded the TrashEra communications agency, collective and platform in 2015 before solidifying his role in the city as a resident DJ of international repute for Pornceptual.

With Deepneue’s DJ sets, productions and platforms continuing to provide common ground and respite for those caught between the margins of normative society, Deepneue finds its place within electronic music as a creature of the night and self-assured nomad from all tribes.

I got the chance to be selected by Titia to join the programming of Tools an event created with The queer agenda at Skate café. This night was special to me, so I wanted to share the set I played.
From mental techno to frenetic beat, ending with heavy bass line.

The first instalment of the New School Artist Spotlight.

A series where we aim to highlight the artists that we host at our events who contribute to making the Eora/Sydney scene what it is today. 

In this episode, we spoke to Blu Aloé and Mai, two talented artists with broad sound pallets and a diverse range of experience. The two of them are playing an extended b2b set at New School V2 on September 7th, 2024.

Blu Aloé speaks about her exposure to music growing up and her experience with Techno whilst living in Cologne, Germany. Mai discusses the changing scene in Sydney and his releases as part of the duo 'Michael & Mai' as well as his recent solo work.

We also broadly discussed creativity and the developing scene here in Eora as a whole.

CcC was born in Lagos, Nigeria and grew up in Duisburg, Germany before moving to his current home of Berlin. The first mix in the series is a power hour of raw, pacey beats of various styles blended together with finesse. Missing Tapes 001 : CcC

Catu Diosis is up next with an hour of upbeat Ugandan music from kuduro and afro house to acholi. Catu Diosis is a Kampala based DJ and member of the Nyege Nyege collective and is currently based in Cologne. While on tour in Europe in March Uganda introduced travel restrictions in and out of the country but this very talented individual (who not only DJ's but also produces and is a professional dancer) has taken it in her stride and is doing a one year internship for Migrafrica in Germany while also running a DJ workshop locally called Dope Gal Africa to encourage Black and African women, a demographic who are currently under represented in the DJ world, to learn the craft. Massive thanks to Catu for sending us this wild mix.

Missing Tapes 003 : Catu Diosis

Next up in the mix series is multifaceted artist Astrid Gnosis. Astrid was the last DJ to play at our party at La Cheetah Club, Glasgow pre lockdown and had quite the effect on the crowd who basically ripped the booth apart while dancing so hard. The Valencian has great affection for Scotland and Scottish comedian Limmy in particular who's responsible for the vocal sample 'Gnosis' that features throughout the mix. Expect pure hardcore power!

Missing Tapes 004 comes from none other than Italian born and Berlin based, Madalba. The Buttons DJ / co-organiser is know for long sets, always playing vinyl and impeccable selections. Alba has very kindly stuck together a mix of some dark, groovey, funky and banging techno records for us all to enjoy so check it out. Missing Tapes 005 sees Jasmine Infiniti bring her wild and intense style to the mix series. Jasmine was born in the Bronx, New York and grew up in the ballroom scene. Her DJ roots lay in Oakland, California where she and friends started the party and now label 'New World Dysorder' that centres trans creatives, performers, and musicians. Jasmine also released an album of absolute fire 'BXTCH SLÄP' earlier this year so be sure to check that out on Bandcamp. Big thanks to Jasmine for sending us this mix.
